[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love this pair of shoes. The highlight of these are definitely the comfort and quality materials that have been used on it. To dive into further detail about it, here's my list of pros and cons. Pros: - As mentioned, the shoes are extremely comfortable. They feel good on the feet even after hours of wear. The shoe definitely provides a good amount of cushion for your feet, but it doesn't overdo it. This allows for there to be a solid feel to the shoes so that you can still comfortable walk in it without worrying about your knees taking too much shock absorption. The upper is a stretchy nylon-like material that hugs your feet, but doesn't squeeze it so it sits very comfortably on foot. The toe box is slightly wider than the rest of the shoe as well so it allows for your toes to spread and not feel too cramped in the shoe. Overall, the shoes are so comfortable and I could wear them for hours. They're perfect for hiking and any sort of athletic activity. - The quality of the shoe is fantastic. The soles of the shoe stick out the most for me because they're made of extremely grippy rubber. These fit and feel like tennis shoes, but the sole almost reminds me of hiking boots because of how well-defined the grooves/ grip is as well as the thick layer of material. The thickness of the soles makes me confident that it'll withstand miles of wear. The upper of the shoe is also made out of sturdy, but flexible water-proof(?) nylon-like material. Right underneath it, it feels like cloth so it'll keep your foot warm and cushioned. On the toes, there's a rubberized toe cap which will protect you from scraping the uppers if you drag your feet or use them for climbing. The tongue pull tag, heel pull tag, and laces are also all very sturdy feeling with no indication that they'll give out on you anytime soon. - The overall styling, design, and silhouette of the shoe is awesome. They look great on feet and the color scheme of my particular pair is beautiful - overall grey with a shiny reflective effect on the uppers with black and orange accents and a dark olive green midsole. Both the design and colors are subtle, but stand out well when examining the finer details. On foot, it doesn't look bulky at all and gives you that classic running shoe look! Cons: - When testing to see how water-resistant or water-proof the shoes are, the uppers seemed to be stained with the water and remain wet for quite some time. The water has yet to leak through the uppers so my foot remained dry underneath however. The "water-staining" will obviously go away once completely dry, but personally for me, that ruins the aesthetics of the shoe. I would have preferred for a completely hydrophobic material that immediately forces water droplets to slide off the shoe. In summary, the shoes are absolutely amazing in comfort, quality, and style. I don't have any major issues with the shoes and I don't foresee any in the near future as I continue to wear the heck out of them. This shoe is definitely the combinations of when function meets comfort and style.
Feels like they are redesigning LP to look like those 90s suede new balance sneakers both in form and color choices. Major problem is lack of durability. Compare LP6 and LP7 in person and you can tell that the LP 7 is way less durable in almost all ways. My pair started coming unglued after 10 miles of easy hiking. I’m reading this is common in other forums. I wouldn’t pay $40 for these shoes. BUT it did motivate me to go back to Altra’s website and panic buy two more pairs of LP6 until they get it together or a new company steps up. Also as I said these colors are all awful. Black and green is the only one that looks relatively “neutral”.
Provided photographs: LP5W vs LP7W sizes 11-1/2 men's( + and LP7 regular with size 12 ) the widest or with of the forefoot area, is not anatomically, oblique-toebox or ergonomically, model #~7 is not wider , direct overview comparison of the model five wider , there is a very extremely small marginal differences between the Wides and "the regular seven-LP7. so I did not make the purchase however, I did order the LP7 hiker to give to my son. Purchased$ the Be~Lenka ranger 2, very difficult to get in the US.(I am hoping someone goes back to Engineering, quality control and design). So the Altra Lone Peak Hiker 2, doesn't follow the same fate as the ill~fitted Tushar Boots.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These shoes does what it advertise. They are great for trail/hike running because it provides durability, stability and are comfortable. I do not agree with the color combinations that are available but if you are doing physical activity I guess it doesn't matter what colors combination are available. These do run little pricey from the regular price but it does the job.
First time owning Altra's and I am already a fan. Great fit and build quality. Felt secure on some rough terrain. The toe box and zero drop is so much better than other brands I have tried so far.
I have really wide feet and got these shoes at the suggestion of the store clerk. At first they were really great, comfortable, no pain or discomfort. After six months I began to have some pain when walking and I had to stop wearing the shoes. Looking at the soles, they seemed like I had worn them for years. The uneven wearing was really bad. Also holes were appearing in the front where the big toe is. Note that I did make sure to get the proper size, so size is not really an issue. For the price over $100 I felt they should have lasted much longer. Granted, I walk at least 3 miles a day on a paved road, but the shoe should do much better than that. I would not get these again.
2 day hikes both under 10 miles with these shoes. I noticed delamination in the toe box sadly
These are Incredibly comfortable. I love how light they are, the zero Heel-to-Toe Drop, and the wide toe-box. I purchased these 4 months ago for some desert hiking and had little to no foot pain after putting many day hikes on them. I have since been wearing them for everyday use because I enjoy the comfort so much. I am a bit disappointed in the longevity of the shoe tread but it seems it's the price to pay for comfort so I'll no doubt likely buy another pair once I've run these down.
I’ve exclusively worn Altra Lone Peaks since 2018: work, hiking, backpacking, and running. Before and after my foot surgery, they have been the most comfortable shoes. Swear by them. The model 7’s are as bad as everyone says they were. Too hot, too narrow, ugliest colors(I just picked the one I hated the least), and after running four measly miles in them, I’ve been unable to run for more than a week because they hurt my joints so badly. Altra (1 star) : you had the perfect shoe. I’m not sure why you took it away, but please bring it back. I’m not giving you any more money till you do. REI(5/5 stars) : thanks for your return policy!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product free for my honest opinion (bzzagent). This is the most comfortable shoe I've ever owned. I feel like I could sleep with these things on. I wore them probably for six hour hike and they left my feet feeling great and sore and ready for another long hike. I would highly recommend the shoes for anyone that loves hiking, and his sore feet afterwards. It has great support it's very comfortable And they're just great quality all around.
