Best bag for travel and every day use!
I bought this bag for a recent trip to Rome, and it worked perfectly. The back zip pocket is great to store your phone and wallet to keep them safe from pickpockets. My packable L.L. Bean rain jacket also fits in the back pocket. The snap to close the handles together and the flap to cover the zipper add extra layers of protection. If you're someone like me who needs to carry around water everywhere, a 16oz Nalgene water bottle fits in the main compartment with a lot of room to spare. Because it zips all the way around I was able to use it as a packing cube in my carryon. It's cute, extremely functional, and perfect for every day use as well as travel.
Quality Bag
They bag is beautiful and high quality! It's small but can fit so much, it's the perfect everyday bag I've been searching for. I also want to mention Rei's amazing customer service. The postal service wouldn't give me my bag, either they lost it or they stole it, but thankfully when I contacted Rei they were really understanding and re-sent the bag for me. This is amazing customer service and can't recommend them enough!
Gets Dirty Immediately
I bought the pink color one and truly love using this bag because it's convenient and love all the pockets. For me it fits everything. However, it gets very dirty even after one use. There is color transfer from my clothes to the bag and other dark marks on it. I have to wash it with a sponge, soap and water after each use and I even removed the pink color from scrubbing it too much after having it only for 2 day :( I am considering getting a darker color since I really think it's a convenient bag. But if you do decide to buy, beware of the pastel colors....the bag will look filthy with minimal use!
Perfect for traveling light!
This little but mighty backpack will be perfect for when I am abroad, which is twice a year for a month each time, because it is not heavy or too big for my frame. When I’m out and about sightseeing or hiking, I only need a few items, not a great big, heavy leather backpack. I will also use it as my every-day-carry as my handbag/purse. And the colors available are gorgeous. It is so well-made!
My everyday companion
Very practical and high quality bag that I take everyday with me to carry the essentials. I use the main compartment for my pocket umbrella and my wallet. The back compartment is perfect for my smartphone and its zipper is very easy to operate with one hand. I use the front pocket for smaller items like a phone charger and a little box of dental floss. I have the black version that goes very well with all my outfits, even the more formal ones. I am very happy with this purchase I did 4 months ago, so happy that I purchased another one for my son as a gift. I recommend it without hesitation.
Color is deceiving but still nice baggie
I saw this bag on someone and just had to buy my own. All the colors are really cute - I settled on "sky blue", which looks to be light teal, somewhat green in the picture. In person, it is way more blue, hence docking 1 star. Had I known that, I would've opted for "frost green", but don't want to go through the hassle/pay more shipping for the color I had in mind. Whoever took the studio picture had adjusted some photo settings too much. Functionally, it can carry a small thermos (about 12 oz), and all my essentials, maybe it can even be a lunch bag, it certainly can carry some small tupperware if needed. I look forward to using this on many occasions, when I don't want to use my usual leather crossbody. Hope it won't get too dirty as the other reviews have mentioned. The care instructions do explicitly say to not wash or tumble dry - not sure how this will hold up but other reviews have also mentioned doing so and it being fine...
Don’t fall for the marketing…it’s not that great
I am not sure why these bags are popular. I fell for the logo and the marketing. I ordered it online and had high expectations. I was sorely disappointed to discover that the material feels like plastic. I was expecting more of a canvas feel. It is not supple like fabric and is more plastic-y. This particular bag is small. Like a Fanny pack size but in a different shape. I like how it hangs when you put it on and the strap has ample room for adjustment, even for someone plus sized. And the gold color is nice. The positives stop there. Inside the main compartment, there is no clip for your keys. That’s a complete dealbreaker for me. The internal pocket for a wallet doesn’t have a zipper or fastener, if that’s important for anyone. The compartment is roomy but things will just be floating around inside and it will be too hard to get keys out. There’s a back pocket also that’s flatter. The front outside little pocket seems too small for anything, maybe chapstick. The handles have a little snap on them so if you wanted to unzip the main compartment, you’d have to unsnap it and the snap is a little hard to open. You could leave it open but it looks better snapped shut. Overall, I’m so disappointed by the material this bag is made of, I will be returning it. I don’t know if it’s just this model or if they are all made the same way.

i usually hate splurging on bags because they never tend to last, but i’ve had my sling in clay for about two years now- i’m a super accident prone person, and i needed a bag that could deal with getting thrown around or beat up. it’s been handling that very well! there’s some minor discoloration/scratches on the bag, but all issues are solely cosmetic and would probably come out with a gentle wash :) carries a good deal of stuff (calculator, phone, glasses, etcetera) and i get tons of compliments on it. definitely worth buying if you’re a mess like me haha
