Good length, bad liner

I was very excited that there was a short option that was a slightly longer inseam but not as long as the 6" nine trails shorts. I ordered my usual Medium (5' 4", 140-145, 27-28" waist), and they generally fit and the material is super lightweight. I also love that there are two zipper pockets, one on each side. However, I had to deduct stars because the liner is a terrible, flimsy material that doesn't fit like the rest of the shorts. As soon as you put them on and move even the slightest bit, the liner rides up and is uncomfortable, so you essentially have to keep trying to readjust it, but it won't stay in place. I'm just really disappointed that for this price and what I usually expect in terms of Patagonia quality that it these shorts would be so functionally deficient in a key area.

Don’t Buy!

The material and features are perfect, the fit is horribly awkward. They’re so comfortable I still almost kept them but never could’ve worn them in public lol. See the photos, but they fit like a pair of men’s shorts. Something went horribly wrong when they designed the fit. My husband thought they were men’s shorts and I bought the wrong pair, that’s how bad they looked.

Great for tall people! (Except for the liner...)

If you're short waisted, you'll love these pants. 5 stars. If you're normal or tall waisted, you'll like the shorts, but they might look a little baggy in the crotch. You'll still wear them because pockets. 4 stars. Then, one day in a fit of irritation, you'll cut out the liner like everyone in the reviews mentioned. Then they'll be perfect! I've bought two pairs of these shorts. Love them, especially for being 5'8". Just wish the liner could be improved! (I do have a similar pair of patagonia women's shorts that were made w/o a liner and I love those as well. They're called the "trailfarer.")

Incredible

I have been looking for shorts that are loose but will be good for outdoor summer activities and I finally finally found them. These are so good. I like that the crotch of the shorts hangs down a bit from the liner because it prevents any shorts riding up issues.

My Favorite Shorts!

The length is perfect, they hang nicely, and the material is soft and lightweight. I absolutely love that the side pockets are large for women’s shorts and have zippers. The only thing I dislike is the liner. I own two pairs of these shorts so far and have removed the liner from both pairs.

Love, except the liner

I love these shorts. They’re the perfect length and perfect weight. Only downside is the liner, like the other reviews have pointed out. Deducting 1 star cause I had to cut the liner out-after doing this, the shorts are perfect.

Disappointed

Loved at first - great fit and length so I bought 2 pairs (green and black). After the first use there were loose seams/threads and pilling and snags on both pairs. They were returned. Very poor quality for $70 shorts.

Finally, shorts with good pockets!

Love these shirts and it's amazing how hard it is to find a short that is comfy and functional for both activities and daily wear. I love the deep zip pockets on both sides, big enough for my phone with room to spare. Plus a nice little snap back pocket, perfect I seam length, and they don't ride up! They were awesome for hiking in the heat and dried very quickly. I've washed them once with no issues. Nicely done on these Patagonia.

great shorts!

Soft, lightweight and comfortable. Flattering fit. Pockets are awesome! I usually do 4” - 5” shorts so these are a little longer but I really love them! Definitely gonna get another pair. Great for hiking.

Perfect active shorts

These are my favorite active shorts! I love having the 2 side pockets to hold my phone. They zip shut which is nice because I can keep my keys secure while taking a walk. I don't really use the back pocket. Material is very soft and doesn't restrict movement. The liner is nice and soft, but I could honestly do without it. I think the length is perfect! I am 5'7" and they hit slightly above mid-thigh. I wear a size medium in the Patagonia baggies shorts but these are stretchier so a size small is perfect.
