Awesome Ultralight Hoodie!

Ortovox is amazing but there might be changes coming:( I discovered Ortovox years ago when looking for ultralight high quality merino gear. Their 120 comp light series is amazing! I have this Hoodie in men's size large (I'm 6'1, 170lbs athletic build) and it only weighs 5.4ozs! That's amazing considering it's 70% merino! Ortovox makes some of the best, highest quality gear out there! Most of their gear is made in Europe. I've had the 120 comp light t shirt, and base layers as well as their comp light boxer briefs for 4 seasons now and all are still going strong. This Hoodie is new for me this year but so far it's just as great as all my other Ortovox gear! Make sure when you buy their comp light, you buy the versions that are 70% merino and 30% polymaide..(there have been some new 120 comp light products added lately that don't have the same high merino content but are just as pricey) That's one thing with Ortovox..Cost.. their gear is very expensive.. but they also offer great sales every year.. anywhere from 40 to 60% off.. the coupled with member points etc... you can get some great deals! But it did take me years to get all my Ortovox gear. The thing I said in the beginning is in reference to the fact that they recently merged with Arc'terx.. I'm not sure why, but I was disappointed as this almost always means changes.. I've already noticed that many great products Ortovox used to always have in stock are not being restocked.. if you find something you like, I'd say buy while you can! But make sure you always read the material description first.. when Ortovox first came on the scene, you knew that your fear was always going to be 100% merino or a very high merino content.. lately I've seen some of their jackets and other gear made from polyester with little to no merino.. which to me there's no point in paying the premium price. All the gear I've ever owned from them has lasted thousands of miles on Trail and was definitely worth the cost in the end. One last thing is the fit on this is athletic, so if you're unsure size up.

Lightest UL Merino Hoodie

After using this hoodie for over 1 year and thousands of trail miles and hundreds of regular miles.. I give it 5 stars plus! The lightest merino (or any comparable fabric) weighs in at roughly 5oz for men's large. Absolutely great hoodie! Keeps the sun off you in warm temps and keeps the wind and cool off you in colder Temps! Easy wash. Definitely try and use wool wash or nicwax detergent when you can in order to extend the life of the fabric but I've washed mine dozens of times on Trail with regular detergent. Dries super fast after any wash. Love Ortovox 120 comp light series! Wait for sales if you can because they can get pricey. This hoodie is soft, comfortable, packs down to size of fist.. really an awesome UL piece of gear! Size large, male 6'1" with athletic build 170lbs. A little tight in the arms and shoulders but that's a common problem I have. Nothing to merit not living the hoodie. Definitely check out their other 120 comp light products. I have the boxer briefs, this hoodie, the neck gaiter, short sleeve t-shirt and Leggings...Together they weigh right around 12ozs! That's amazing for 5 pieces of gear!
