Bought last Christmas for self. Have carried along in pack a few times for winter hikes but not actually needed to wear yet. Pulled them out again getting ready for this year, and the rubber strip along the inside of the strap (I think designed to help keep in place on ski helmet) had turned into a sticky mess. Glue sticks to everything, and also comes off on fingers. Looking at Smith warranty site, this is a known issue. Happily REI has a great return policy, so am returning almost a year after purchase.
I got these to replace Julbo goggles with photochromatic lenses that I felt didn't get light enough on overcast days. So far, these are great. The fit is excellent, especially with a Smith helmet, and the optics are better than any goggles I've ever had. I got the Evrdy Rse Gld Mr/Strm Rse Flsh because I wanted slightly more light transmission than the other lenses, and I'm happy with that. They're definitely bright on sunny days than I'm used to, but the quality is so good that it's worth it. The sun doesn't bother me, they're just markedly lighter than I'm used to. It's worth noting that these come only with a soft case and Smith currently doesn't sell a hard case for this very popular goggle and its extra lens, which is kind of a bummer.
They seem to work very well. I haven't worn the original lens yet, only the lighter extra lens that was provided - which was awesome. The light lens was easy to see in overcast conditions and it was easy to change them out. They fit with my helmet perfectly (not a Smith) and fit my smaller face much better than previous goggles I've owned. The clip on the strap is interesting - I've never had one like that before. I was nervous it would fall off when adjusting but it never did.
They kept me warm! I’m new to skiing but my bf and his family are pros so I went with what they told me are good and I don’t have any regrets I was warm and safe the two days we went skiing. There was a sunny and a cloudy days and it was easy to snap in the different lenses for the conditions. I also like that they match my other gear! Overall I would get them again if I needed to.
My IO Mag S fits well with my Smith Vantage helmet. I scratched the lens on first use so I recommend goggle covers when not actively wearing them on your face. The IO S fit me well for downhill skiing. No more foggy goggles. The photo is with everyday rose colored lens.
Very easy to use and love the clip in the back for easy on and off of helmet. Didn't fog once and really comfy. Great size and love the additional lens. Highly recommend!
The fit and feel of these goggles is amazing! Smith S always fit my face well and I am in love with the violet mirror lens.
Great size for my face! Fit great with smith helmet! Good lens options for variable conditions.
Fit and switch fantastic! Thank you Smitg
Great fit and lenses!
