Features

  • Fits over glasses (OTG) and is compatible with a Smith optical docking system (ODS) prescription lens insert (not included)
  • ODS3 RX Adaptor (not included) easily snaps into place to provide corrective vision
  • ChromaPop lenses enhance contrast and natural color to make details pop by filtering 2 specific wavelengths of light that cause color confusion
  • Spherical Carbonic-x lens offers distortion-free optics with scratch and impact resistance; the Carbonic-x material meets Class 1 optical standards
  • Spherical lens is built on a base curve in a pioneering 6 x 4 toric shape for optical clarity, improved fit, and improved fog performance via increased volume
  • Tapered lens technology straightens out the incoming light rays by progressively tapering the lens from the optical center toward the peripheral view for improved accuracy
  • Durable hydrophobic lens coating repels moisture, grease and grime so water beads up and disperses without streaking—and smudges from fingerprints are wiped clean easily
  • 5X antifog inner lens for advanced fog-free performance
  • Quick-swap MAG lens system uses magnets for quick and easy lens changes so you can adapt to varying light conditions
  • Strong and weatherproof N52 magnets automatically guide the lens into the anchored position to speed up lens changes
  • Grips are carefully considered and designed at the corners of the lens for easy interchangeability while protecting the surface of the lens
  • Patent-pending dual-locking mechanism secures the lens for whatever the hill throws at you; a simple push of one lever at either side of the lens releases it for easy swapping
  • Responsive Fit frame acts like a suspension system, adjusting and flexing to the contours of your face for a precise, comfortable fit
  • 3-layer DriWix face foam wicks moisture for a fog-free fit
  • QuickFit strap adjustment system lets you find the right fit fast
  • Ultrawide, silicone-backed strap stays put
  • Includes 2 lenses with bright-light and low-light ChromaPop performance tints
  • High-value bonus ChromaPop lens included at no extra cost
  • Higher light transmission percentages are best in cloudy or low-light conditions; lower percentages are good for bright, sunny days
  • Pair with a Smith helmet (not included) to eliminate gaper gap and allow precise alignment between the helmet AirEvac and the goggles' venting system for fog-free lenses
  • Includes Smith x gogglesoc lens protector made from postconsumer recycled water bottles and a microfiber goggles bag with replacement lens sleeve
  • Included gogglesoc doubles as a lens protector and cleaning cloth; more convenient than the traditional goggles bag, it can be used with your goggles still on your helmet

Great lenses - terrible everything else

The lenses are stunning and it’s great to have a low light lens included. However the plastic clip at the back of the strap is cheap and very delicate. Also the goggle bag barely fits the goggle with its extra lens. It’s a pain to get put away at the end of the day and frustrating when a goggle bag 10% larger would totally fix this. Just know you are paying for the lens and know Smith has completely cheaped out on the rest of the package

Terrible instructions and lens change change desig
Anonymous
Let me premise this with saying these goggles work OK, but, I guess???, without a matching Smith helmet, they let in lots of wind to dry your eyes. Now I have to buy a $250 helmet????? How can a goggle that costs hundreds of dollars have inept instructions? This one does. Junk. They explain how to install the lens, but not how to remove. You want to call me incompetent? I am a mechanical engineer with 40 years of experience with 13 patents. Here are the instructions: "begin by pinching nose of frame together and inserting lens into lens groove around nose bridge. Once nose are has been properly secured, lock the frame down around the entire lens ensuring that lens keyholes line up with posts in the lens groove." Ok, to pinch the nose requires way more strength than I have. There are no "keyholes" in the lens so worthless. There are no posts in the lens groove so worthless. I can get one side hook to lock in, but cannot get the other side to lock no matter how I bend and try to force it. Also, there are no instructions on how to remove the lens. I ended up just muscling it out, hoping I would not break something. Smith and REI, get real and design correctly and have a real user experience writer tell how to do it,.

These googles are money, great

These googles are money, great field of view and clarity. Love the Mag and photo chromatic lens features. I did notice that they fog quicker than my Oakley googles but they are sick!

Must Have for Winter Sports

My previous pair of no name goggles swiftly became a struggle as they became a foggy mess. Additionally they didn’t have an alternative lens for night skiing. I immediately went to Smith because I know the name, and it harkens to a non related heritage of my grandmother for me. I definitely wanted to get the Mag because the magnetic functionality is top tier. With finally using these, I LOVE THEM! I switched out my lenses in a blink of an eye, and additionally they mitigate any fog quickly. Can’t wait to make more memories and embark on more adventures in these.

If you like the IOX

If you like the IOX you’ll love these except with magnets! Oh don’t forget about the crhomapops. Plus lifetime warranty and made in USA. Just make sure to grab a smith helmet to go with for a excellent fit and no Gordy gap here. Vision is sweet but I can’t wait for next years IO XL with the 4D l. View what can I say it’s the biggest google they got and I forget I’m wearing googles unless I got the wrong lens. Down side smith send em with three lens low light, P/C, and sunny day lens i mean the VLT from sunny to low light is a huge difference if not drop the price a bit would ya. I’ still just buy my mid lenses Anyways sick as always keep it up!

The silicone on the strap turned into soft, gooey glue, ruining my helmet.

Great Goggles

I've been snowboarding for 20 years and taught at a few different resorts. I was introduced to Smith goggles pretty early on in my days riding. I've never stopped wearing Smith goggles as they've just been so much better made and provided such a clearer lens than other brands. This recent transaction was to replace an older pair of Smith goggles and I can't say how impressed I am with the service and the product. If I had the time, I would attempt to ride professionally, but having two kids with a third on the way (and approaching 40) has changed my perspective. Suffice it to say, when my kids ride, they'll be using Smith goggles. -Rob

Mediocre anti-fog, the rest of the design is good

In cold temperature, fog in your goggles is a tough problem to address. For a high-end product, these goggles do a mediocre job at preventing fog. I am an arctic worker and I spare no expense for my winter gear. I put as much care as possible to keep my goggles in conditions (never touch the inside, don't allow steam to get into them, etc.). I never had that much frost and fog in my goggles than with this Smith product. I would strongly recommend avoiding these goggles, either go for another high-end ski goggles brand or get cheap ones that will do as well as those. The rest of the design is good, but the bad performance of the anti-fog is a big no for me.

Goggles fog, lens change system is difficult to use.

I have loved every Smith product I have ever owned, except for these goggles. They fog in almost every condition. When there is the slightest humidity (i.e snowing,) there are literally rivulets of water pouring down the inside of the lens. Even on a dry day, if I exhibit the slightest physical exertion like skiing some bumps, the goggles are completely fogged up and impossible to see through by the end of the run. The lens change system is also really clunky compared to other models. You will have to remove the goggles and fumble with some tabs, which kind of defeats the purpose of having a magnetic goggle in the first place.
