Great, but some improvement needed

5'11 200lbs. Bought a size large. fits great with enough room to move, but not so loose that there is a bunch of extra material flapping around. Great as a stand alone jacket on a brisk day, but this piece really shines as a mid layer. It brings a TON of warmth for how thin it is in a layering system. my only complaints are that i'd like thumb holes in the sleeves, and the hood toggles are a bit difficult to use. While they are easy to tighten, its tough to reset them to the loose position while wearing the hoodie, mostly because its hard to see what you are doing. Id like to see a standard "button" style toggle instead.

I think it's going to be good

Just got this, but I'll share initial impressions. For those into backpacking, this seems like an intentional alternative to the Melanzana. That's a good thing. The medium I got weighs in at 11.9 oz. The bright copper is more of an autumn orange, or pumpkin color than the photos depict, also a good thing iny book. I like the density of the grid fleece material MH uses, it is not such an open weave that I feel coolness coming in, but it is more breathable than a standard polartec fleece type material. If I had any initial complaints, it could use slightly more length in the body and maybe thumb loops, but having not actually used it in the field, maybe those are unfounded. Overall, this is the one that will make it in the pack going forward for cool/cold weather trips. I like it. I'm 5'11" 180lbs .. medium seems right

Almost there

It feels a bit short in the torso. The bottom of the hoodie near the waist is very open and flimsy. It needs to have a cinch cord. Make those two changes and this hoodie would be perfect. It is very warm and stylish though and I can wear it around town or on hikes etc.

Comfy, light-weight mid-layer!

My cooper colored Summit Grid has become my go-to mid-layer for colder days. The fit is roomy enough to wear over a base layer, and snug enough to wear under a parka or light-weight down. Feels nice and unrestrictive to climb in, and soooo comfortable. I don't leave home without it!

Latest and Greatest Grid Fleece Hoodie

I was seriously thinking of routing my annual Climbing Trip to Moab through Denver, in order to pass through Leadville and be mistreated by a certain store there. Then I came across this outstanding garment. WOW! It's snug, warm, well designed, functionally perfect and the half-zip is a real value-add for thermo regulation. I literally wear this fleece hoodie all the time, inside and outside. Almost every time, I get compliments and questions. So does my wife for HER tunic necked model. Don't pay 3X for 2nd best just grab one of these high performance hoodies right HERE right NOW.

Perfect versatile addition to my core wardrobe

a fabulous lighter weight fleece. think early Fall or Late Spring when you don't need a sweater, or a coat, but a long sleeve tee just isn't quite cozy enough. I love the fabric, the kangaroo pocket, the smaller/fitted hood and the 1/4 zip. a very versatile piece that goes well with pajama bottoms, jeans, sweats, or shorts/swimsuit -- yes, this would be a perfect piece for the beach after a long day in the surf in NorCal. also for in between sport routes at the Red, or post MTN bike ride at Pisgah. not really a technical piece, but I think it would do just fine if you let it.

Fleece for all

Got this at the start of ski season and won’t stop taking it everywhere! Perfect layer to have when things get chilly and there’s still more uphill. Wicks and stays dry

Great warmth vs. breathability especially in colder climates.

It is the perfect balance between warmth and breathability. But it definitely airs on the side of warmth than breathability compared to the Patagonia R1. If the R1 is too cold for you, this will be just right. Its slightly oversize which is perfect to have a single layer, for climbing and mobility. Climbing in it I tend to get a bit warm but then am fine even on long belays between pitches. A great layer for the quiver or as a light layer for hiking or wearing around town. 5'9" 170 and a medium is perfect (slightly baggy).
