Green color not as pictured
Was excited to get the lime green jacket for my son, as it's his favorite color. Was very disappointed when I opened the box to find the color is not anything like the picture... it's just a boring pine tree green. Sending it back.

Ok-ish ...not great
Light jack , comfortable but not nearly as warm as it looks and as it's presented, a shell over it is absolutely needed, do not relay just on this jacket. 800 fill level marmot is a 500 the north face :/

Great multi purpose jacket

The jacket as motioned is a bit barrel shaped but I think that's so it can be used as a midweight belay jacket. I reached out to Marmot who confirmed it's 164 grams of 800 fill in large; which after shopping around is more than a more fill than an expensive competitor. The fabric is really soft and the jacket is perfect for a shoulder season alpine jacket or a cold winter mid layer. I really like the weight and warmth of this jacket. Another solid piece from Marmot and at a lower price than patagucci or the dead bird. I went with the large I have a 41.5 inch chest so I'm in-between sizes and I could've gone with a medium for more of a tighter fit, but I like the versatility of the larger fit.

Nice high performer

The Hype Down Hoody is a solid cold weather performer. Nothing too fancy nor innovative here, but the minimalist design and timeless materials (goose down) make it a reliable necessity when the mercury drops.

fits large

I love the looks, the fill, and the feel of this jacket. However, the sizing is pretty off. I'm 5'11" and 155 pounds, ordered a small. This is WAY too big in the mid-section. I'd have to gain at least 40 pounds to fill this thing out, and if I did I can't imagine thinking I was a small! You want down jackets to fit reasonably close to maximize insulative properties.

Best down jacket out there

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This puts that brand that everyone gets that rhymes with begonia to shame. Not only is it A LOT warmer, its also A LOT lighter. Like significantly so. Im super impressed with this jacket. I ended up ordering a bunch of different jackets from different companies (couldnt go into stores) and this was the best by a longshot. If you need a super durable jacket that will stand up to scratches from rocks/trees, you might want something a bit heavier duty since its pretty lightweight but other than that, I couldnt ask for any more.

Excellent poofy coat - XL worked for me

I’m about 6’1 long-ish arms, and the XL was the perfect fit. The sleeves are long enough, the body is long enough, and unless you’re quite skinny, it’s not too big around the mid section. It’s very lightweight, looks great, and is insulating without feeling bulky. Definitely a great buy.

Nice comfy jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket will work well for me. I like skiing and this will fit underneath my GoreTex jacket; fit into my backpack or be perfect for winter driving, getting to the ski areas. And it has the perfect amount of loft needed for the most efficient down warmth I require. Not too big or small. I don't see anyone else making such a product. Marmot always fits me and fits it's purpose, too. I also worked outside my entire life as a Surveyor, and I was Never disappointed, cold or wet.

Not as thick as photos show

Photos make it appear more puffier/insulated than it is. Thin.

Excellent Down Hoody

This is my second Marmot down jacket. This Medium athletic fit is perfect for my 5'6" 180lbs frame. Length of jacket and arms are a perfect fit. My favorite feature is the height of the neck coverage when zipped. Covers my chin and I can almost bury my nose. hoodie seems oversized which will be perfect for my ski helmet when sitting on the chair lift. Quality appears to be great so far! Just got for Xmas 2021!
