Sturdy, great quality, do your body good. If for any reason they aren’t perfect right when you put them on, give them some break in time. Hokas start great & get better!

Don't get the Hoka love

I cannot understand why people rave about Hokas. This is my second pair and I hate both pair. I have tried these with every combo of sock, insole, and lacing pattern known and the soles of my feet always burn every single time I wear these, no matter the terrain or how long I'm out. Both pairs of Hokas also caused me to lose toenails - I can just about tolerate the toe issue if I wear rubber caps on my toes when I wear these. After a hike today I remembered why these went on the shelf. Going to sell them back or donate. They aren't for me. My advice is if you find Hokas comfortable, you'll probably like these. The sole provides good traction.

Hoka can do better

I love HOKA shoes but these are not good! Please save your money and consider their trial running shoes instead for hiking. If you’re set on HOKA. I’ve hiked with HOKA’s for years and I’d them! However not a fan of this shoe. Im an active hiker, hiked Mt Baldy, CA , Panorama Ridge in Whistler, Skyline -Ca, Cucamonga Peak, just to name a few all 12+ miles trails. These shoes gave me blisters and they just don’t fell uncomfortable. I would recommend their challenger instead. I’m pretty disappointed I’ll have to spend money to replace these.

Not a good fit for me

Nicely made shoe, but I found them to run very narrow in the toe box, Will be returning. I wish REI would carry the men’s version in smaller sizes like 7 or 8, (which I will try to find elsewhere) as they would probably fit wider than my women’s 8.5.

Way too small but nice shoe

Too small. I'm giving 5 stars because I haven't really been able to try the shoes and they seem like great quality. But I normally wear a 9.5 and that's what I ordered and my big toe hits the front of the shoe. So for me they are sized way too small. I don't know why Hoka say these are true to size. I've been buying 9.5 size in all shoes for 35 years and these aren't even close. I wish my REI had these in stock to try on. Returning them and will try again.

very capable and comfortable hiking shoes

I’m a huge fan of Hoka for both running shoes and hiking boots. My husband bought me these shoes for my birthday and I immediately put them to the test hiking around Sedona and the Grand Canyon, Arizona. They are comfortable right out of the box, as I would expect from Hoka. I do add an insole with a high arch because I need that in my shoes. I had no hotspots and felt great traction with these shoes. I foresee a lot of hiking with them this summer. On a style note, I like the color. Sometimes Hoka shoes are very brightly colored, but these are subdued and I really like the way they look. I usually wear a 9 1/2 but I had to go up to a 10 in these shoes so I would say they might run a little small.

Great on any terrain

I cannot say how much I love these hiking shoes. I have smaller feet so sometimes it is hard to find companies that carry a size 5.5. I have worn HOKAS over the years, and I can say I recommend them to all my friends and family! These are good hiking tennis shoes on trail and off trail.

Why Didn't I Buy These Earlier?

Hokas have saved my ability to walk and hike. I have bone marrow edema in my foot and it makes walking extremely painful. Hokas (along with prescription orthotics) have made it possible more me to stay outside in nature. I started with the Clifton 8 based on the recommendation of my podiatrist and fell in love with the comfort and colors. Then I was on a trip to Iceland and so many people had Hoka trail shoes, that I can't imagine why I didn't try them myself earlier. The Anapaca takes it to the next level - I've used them every day since they arrived. I've already tossed all of my other hiking shoes. I wear a 9.5 medium and these fit perfectly. It's amazing how light they are and still can provide the grip and stability needed for the trail.

So comfy

I was holding out trying Hokas because I think they’re ugly! But I finally tried this pair and I now understand why they are so popular. They fit me perfectly and are SO comfortable. I still wish they weren’t so big and ugly, but I’m hooked!
