It’s a very good jacket, lightweight waterproof and comfortable
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the way it fits, looks and feels, but - the material does not let the heat to come out, so you have to open the armpits zippers, which caused mine to tear off the zipper. Sending it back to Columbia now. Will see how it goes.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Living in Georgia rain can come at any moment, this jacket can handle any storm you throw at it. I have worn this jacket along with the Columbia rain pants in Hurricane weather the past two years and made it back inside dry as a bone. I gave it a good on the function because it can get wet on the inside from your own sweat. The jacket is very water tight but that also makes it keep in your moisture. I'm currently buying a second jacket to keep at work I love it that much. I am 5'11 200lb, I bought the XL. The XL is big on me but I use it during the winter to wear winter clothes under it. I'm sure the L would fit perfect.
I ordered this because of so many positive reviews this thing has. The problems I have with it are as follows: 1) this thing starts cooking me as soon as I put it on 2) this thing fits me like a big poncho, it's way too big. I am holding on to it to compare it to the MEN’S SLEEKER™ RAIN JACKET, which from the two reviews it has the people were happy it doesn't cook them. So hopefully that is the rain jacket for me because this is WAY TOO HOT, and the fit is terrible. I guess if I were overweight or shaped like a ball this would fit good. I like clothing with an athletic cut, like the Ascender Hooded Softshell Jacket.
I first got one of these jackets when I was 19 and only recently had to replace it because it was stolen from my car, but I’m 26 now - so it lasted me over 7 years and was really my only rain and winter jacket during that period of time. When I realized that I knew I should write a review - if you’re considering buying this jacket you should do it! I like adding a fleece or something else a little warmer underneath when it gets crazy cold outside but I run very hot most of the time so just a water and wind proof shell is all I need. Plus I love the vents on the side especially for the warmer rainy days! 10/10!
Although this garment looks nice and smart, it is not for active outdoor use. It does not breath, and you get soaked when you do even a mild outdoor activity. Moreover, it is not durable at all. I have worn mine just a few times, and the inner lining began to peel away as seen in the photo. In my humble opinion, it is not a piece of outdoor clothing, merely a casual urban rain jacket.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this jacket to be my waterproof rain jacket when I’d be outside it wet conditions for extended periods. The seams are sealed well and do not leak. And it can act as a windbreaker on dry, cooler days. I would recommend this jacket for about any outdoorsy activity a jacket would be required for.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been very pleased with this rain coat I recently purchased from Columbia. I really like the material, and yes it will keep you dry. I had to run my son into school one morning during a downpour and it kept me dry. Hope it lasts and I get to use this coat for many many years!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Followed the sizing chart and it fit me perfectly. its a tad bit large, but that is necessary for a mid-layer if you want one. I love that it is packable, since there are no official pictures of it in its packed form, here is one.
Just got this jacket in the Green. I've really enjoyed it so far, and even took on a trip to climb Mt. St. Helens. I stayed very dry - and being able to pack up the jacket into it's pocket was a great feature to have when I didn't need to wear a shell. The hood was easy to adjust when it got windy - and I felt comfortable throughout the day, so I'm a believer in the EVAP. I really like the waterproof front zipper - and how it has a bit of a shine to it. Gives it a nice look rather than a storm flap. Bought the women's model for my fiance and she has really enjoyed it too!
