I absolutely love this bike. I can't stop riding it. I've been on several 12mi rides since picking it up from the store a week ago. It's quite comfortable to ride for long distances. The brakes are responsive and have good stopping power. Shifting is quick, quiet, and precise. The gears are great, I'm always able to find a great balance between power/speed/effort. I used to ride a very average bike from a big box store, and this is lightyears better. On my old bike I would get SO fatigued after short distances and felt like I was constantly fighting to keep speed. On this bike, I can feel the power of my legs propelling me forward with ease. Also, I love that you get SO much for the price. A comparable bike from a big name like Trek, Cannondale, etc is going to at least cost you $400-600 more. All in all, I'm obsessed with this bike, it's amazing, and I highly recommend it.
Purchased the ADV 2.1 gravel bike a few weeks ago and am very satisfied with it. It is very light and maneuverable. Had trouble making some adjustments so took it back to REI and the bike tech had it adjusted and back to me in less than an hour. Great work.
This is a great all-round bike if you're transitioning from mountain biking (or no biking). It looks clean, rides well, is fairly light and comfortable. I've taken it on many rides up to 50 miles and it's held up really well. It's not a road/tri bike - you will go slower than others on more suited gear - but for me that was worthwhile so that I could ride on gravel as well without too much concern. It is not safe for icy conditions - I've fallen a few times! I think the absolute best use of the bike has been for commuting the 6 miles to work. Super comfortable, and excellent for a workout. I highly recommend!
I've had this bike for about 5 months now and have ridden it quite a bit- enough to have replaced the tires. Maybe this is what I should expect for the price but it's a little underwhelming. I find myself changing between the front two chain rings often throughout the ride, never seeming to find the right ratio. The brakes are ok but I wish they were hydraulic- the feel isn't great and you have to really grab them to stop. I hear creaks and rattles while riding but the bike's held up fine. Well, the bar tape started slipping pretty soon into it. I lost everything in the Eaton fire and wanted a bike I could hop on and ride anywhere. I guess this fits the bill, but I wish i'd had time to go to the Trek store.
I have owned the bike a month and have gone on about three 11 mi rides. My experience ordering it to the store, having it assembled, and picking it up was positive. The bike performs well on asphalt and on gravel/dirt. The gear shift is smooth (although the shift up on the left hand is the shift down on the right hand, which takes some thought to shift correctly). The handles are comfortable. I had to buy some Shimano pedals separately, which attached easily and work fine. Overall I'm looking forward to riding my bike more soon
I have put approximately 40 miles on it since the time of purchase, and my initial impressions are overwhelmingly positive. It is agile on pavement, quite light, and after I fine-tuned the seat height - remarkably comfortable. Plenty of mounting points for bags/water/accessories, generous range of gear ratios, decent mechanical brakes, responsive shifting (my other ride has internal gear hub, I was pleasantly surprised), and competitive price for the features. I went with Shimano PD-EH500 for the pedals.
I love this bike! Upgraded from the co-op MTB because I was really only riding gravel and paved trails. Even as just a recreational rider, I’ve put 100+ miles on this in the first month. I love everything about it. It’s fantastic, especially if you can snag it with extra sale. Wish I could quit work to ride every day.
