Incredible grip, even on wet rocks, dependable waterproofing, and very durable so far. I use these year round, and they are great. The rubber surrounding the toe is very durable and holding up well. Sizing seems to be pretty standard. The toe area felt narrow at first but has broken in after a few hikes. The cushioning is the perfect balance of stability and bounce.
Had these a week, put maybe 10 miles on them. Beautiful craftsmanship right out of the box. One size 10 weighs 1 lb. 9.4 oz. On your feet they feel light, not at all clunky for a substantial backpacking boot. Very roomy toe box - 10's my regular size and there's PLENTY of room for thick hiking socks and even a liner sock. Two-zone lacing system is quick and easy. Snug heel stays put. Nice arch support. Thick padding and more supple leather hugs the ankle with even pressure all around for firm support with complete range of movement. Perwanger leather is stiff but molded perfectly, feels like a tough second skin when you’re snugly laced in. Nice rocker in the last lets you roll through your stride. Minor caveats: Insole could be a bit thicker under the ball of the foot. Not a summer hiker as they get warm when temps are above 70. When the boot bends on a forward stride, the stiff leather and metal eyelet press down on the right small toes. It's a tad uncomfortable, but I'm hoping it will subside as they break in further. Haven't tested their waterproofing yet.
