Keep your beverage cold and save weight, too.
Recycled Stainless-Steel Water Bottle with Loop Cap – 64 fl. Oz. (Brushed Stainless) Pros: Mush lighter than my insulated double walled water bottles. It doesn’t sweat. The ring on the top is very sturdy for carrying by hand or attaching to something. The silicone ring inside the lid has a little tab to make removal easier. Dishwasher safe. Certified B Corporation 90% Recycled Stainless Steel Leakproof Cons: No hot drinks Brushed stainless shows a lot of fingerprints – but it is the perfect canvas for placing stickers It doesn’t fit in my SUV cupholders. The carry-ring can stick. Don’t use your fingernails to open I am a fan of this water bottle. I needed something that was 64oz for the long days of carting around kids, cheering them on, and waiting for practices to end. I was slightly skeptical when I realized how light this water bottle was compared to the insulated double-walled water bottles I’ve been using. You can feel the temperature of your drink through the Stainless-Steel, but it doesn’t sweat, and your drink stays cold for several hours. This bottle was used throughout the day on multiple days. I was waiting for it to leak – NOPE! I was waiting for it to sweat as the amount of ice I used increased, and the temperatures climbed – NOPE! I was waiting to witness a good size dent as it fell out of my bag – NOPE! This water bottle was great. I can't wait to take it out on the trail! The wide mouth opening is even water filter compatible!
Light, durable, fits in a cooler.
Most of the water bottles we use are double-walled vacuum bottles that are designed to keep things cold for long periods of time. This bottle does not keep things as cold as those, but has a few big advantages. It's much lighter and holds more liquid that similarly sized double-walled bottles. I also really like the large opening and the lid is high quality. No leaks so far. I've thrown it in the cooler and taken it on the boat and to baseball games, which has been great because other bottles I've used that hold this much don't fit in our cooler and don't hold as much liquid. Overall, it seems durable and I've really like the large volume.
Decent water bottle
The Klean Kanteen 64oz bottle is a decent NON-INSULATED bottle. Here are some bullet points: Pros: Lightweight - this 64oz bottle weighs slightly less than 2 of the usual 32oz bottles from the other well-known brand. Design - this is subjective, but I did like the very clean and simple stainless steel design. If you want, you can add stickers to make it more personal. Taste - taste you say? Yes, the stainless steel helps to keep water tasting clean. Cleaning - it is pretty easy to clean as with most water bottles. Nothing especially easy. Cons - I think the 64oz is a little too big for everyday use. It does not fit in most day pack water bottle holders. Conclusion - The bottle is well made but remember this is not insulated! This is a good alternative to plastic water bottles and the fact that it is made of recycled materials is a definite plus. I'm giving this 4 out of 5 stars because it is good at what it is designed to do, but minus 1 star because it is just too big for practical every day use.
Nice Lightweight Large Bottle
This bottle is surprisingly lightweight given the size, even when full. It will hold plenty of water for your adventure. The wide-mouth makes it easy to fill with ice and your beverage of choice, however it can be tricky to drink from unless using both hands to hold. I have been using during the summer months and the bottle does sweat (within minutes) when filled with water and ice, so it would definitely need to be wrapped if bringing inside a pack. My ice water has remained cold for about 2 hours in the 80-85 degree heat, with ice melting close to the 2 hour mark. This is not quite as long as some of of the other double-walled bottles I have. The rubber seal inside the lid was not set correctly when the bottle arrived, so I needed to pull it out completely and use chopsticks to reset it. After a few uses, I now primarily use this bottle as a secondary source to fill other smaller bottles when they go empty.
Big, Functional Bottle
This is a nice, lightweight, functional single walled stainless steel bottle that excels in doing exactly what it was designed to do: hold a lot of liquid (64oz). As mentioned, this bottle is single walled meaning that it is not insulated so whatever you put in there will equalize in temperature to its environment very quickly. So if you need to keep something hot or cold, than this is not the container for you. If your objective it to carry a lot of liquid in a secure container, this bottle will come through for you. The cap is solid/heavy duty, easy to clean and has a durable clip/hook on the top that makes it easy to carry. I especially like the little pull tab that is integrated into the o-ring which allows for easy removal to clean and dry the cap thoroughly. The only reason why I knocked off a star is due the fragile nature of the bottle. Since it is single walled, my concern is that the bottle will easily puncture/crack if it is full and dropped on the ground. Now this hasn't happened yet and I don't intend to test my concern to validate it, but it does feel quite delicate to the touch so I'm assuming that it wouldn't/couldn't take much abuse.
Great design and does exactly what it should.
I've used the bottle for a few weeks now. Love the size of it and the stainless design is super sleek. In 2009 I had a kidney transplant and try to drink a gallon of water daily. This makes it really easy to have water on hand! Washable gasket means it's leak proof rolling around, and the stainless handle snaps makes it incredibly easy to carry. Love that the handle snaps into place in the cap so it doesn't flop around. All around, I love the design and it functions exactly as one would think a water bottle should! Since it's single wall, it transfers temperature pretty quickly, but so far it hasn't been an issue.
Great high capacity option
This doesn't fit in my cupholder, and it's a bit big to just carry around. But I love it because it's bombproof, lighter than carrying two 32oz water bottles, fits in the pockets in my backpack, and fits my water filter. Highly recommended for outdoor activities where you need to carry a bit more water.
Daily bottle
I've used this for a couple years as a daily water bottle for outdoor work during the cooler months when an insulated bottle isn't needed and also on my bike strapped to a cargo cage. Great overall but it does dent easily if dropped while there is weight of water in it. The cap gasket is the biggest flaw. It has come out of the cap in the dishwasher and the bottle will leak badly if the gasket is missing. I have to pour a bit of water on to the cap gasket after washing or when it is all dry and grippy to make it slide smoothly against the bottle rim...without doing that I've had the gasket scrunch up a little and get damaged. Had to buy replacement gasket set from Klean Kanteen. The gasket could use a redesigned otherwise pleased with the bottle. The width would make it hard to hold one-handed for those with smaller hands.
3 season bottle
I gave this bottle only 3 stars for a few reasons. While it is very light empty, as its 64oz, full it still has some weight to it as expected, no issues there. It does have a wide mouth opening, and is a wider/shorter bottle but still won't fit under my ice maker on the fridge, so another cup had to be used to fill it with ice. I also dont care for thw wide mouth opening as it tends to spill on me, especially when big clumps of ice shift suddenly. There is a straw lid available to purchase so I may look into that. My biggest complaint is that this is single wall, so while light in weight, the condensation was extreme and outside in the GA summer heat, even full of ice, it just melted within hours. Fall/winter/spring this may be a good bottle, but its not meant foe southern summers.
Quality at Klean Kanteen seems to have suffered.
I haven't bought a new Klean Kanteen in almost 10 years. I can tell some things have changed. The walls aren't nearly as thick as my original. The mouth is thin as well, almost a sharp edge. It doesn't feel like it could take the beating that my old bottle could. I'm glad I got them on sale!
