Yes , I recommend this product
The quality is outstanding. I got my first Kryptonite lock back in the 80s, my Mom didn’t my bike stolen, and this product lives up to my expectations. I bought this with the intention of using it while doing some weekend touring, but quickly realized that 6lbs is much heavier than it sounds online. Unfortunately I had to return it, however REI makes the return process very easy, started online and visited my local store to return. If you need a heavy secure lock, buy this one.

Length is great for getting your back wheel and frame. Kinda heavy, but I guess that’s a good thing security wise.

Thieves came into my apartment's bike room and stole a bunch of bikes. A bunch of bike locks were cut through including cable locks and U-bolts, except when they stole my bike they had to cut through the apartment's bike rack to get mine. So I guess the lock did it's job at least...

Wonderful lock! Perfect length for a regular bicycle. If using an e-bike you might have to go for a 5 foot chain if you are wrapping around random objects often. Although on a regular bike i never have run out of length to secure my bicycle. Lock is kind of on the heavier side but you get used to it. Take your time inserting the key slowly & fully. Be deliberate & slow with your movements & the lock works. If you move to hastily with the keys sometimes the locking mechanism does not want to turn. All is well just remove key & try again.

Kryptonite to defeat UCSB theives

Kryptonite builds a solid product. My son is at UCSB and we just bought a new bike for him to get around campus. We spent almost as much on the lock as the bicycle. It is a sad commentary on life at UCSB but there it is. Kryptonite still builds a solid product that will take a little more effort to defeat than the U-lock. The lock is heavy.
