Excellent
Best umbrella that I ever had. At the same time it is the most expensive umbrella I’ve ever had. It is worth it though.

Great product but false claim of close with button
This is a nice weight and well constucted umbrella. The description of using the down button to close it was not true. The down button does nothing. Still have to close it the old fashion way. This was a disappointment.

Weak construction

I've owned two of these umbrellas. The first worked fine for a few uses and then an internal component/cable broke due to the force of the opening spring and it would no longer stay open at all. The second one I purchased literally broke the first time I⁸ opened it. Very disappointing product.

OK - except for the rust...

I bought this umbrella in Seattle after my $10 one collapsed in the wind on the way to an important meeting (bad look to arrive with a wounded and limping umbrella). Used for sedate city activities. I have been reasonably happy (a bit heavy, but holds up in wind), until it started to rust. Yep, rust stains on the inside because some element of the spokes is made with rusting metal (see photo). OK, maybe I did not dry it perfectly when I put away (although I always try). But weirdly I have never had this happen to my previous $10 umbrellas...

Great buy!

I’ve used this a few times during travel. My only criticism is it doesn’t easily fit into the travel slots most backpacks have for an umbrella. It is heavy duty and so far it doesn’t bend in heavy rain/wind. Easily shields two people. Wish it came in other colors.

Large but with fragile structure

Umbrella opens well and one can learn to close it easily in short order. Do not do what I did and have successfully done with umbrellas in the past... to get rain off the umbrella before entering a home or building, DO NOT spin/rotate the umbrella. Open and close a couple of times only. The collapsible shaft and numerous other fragile components are too easily damaged. Will not close again. Too bad. 45 bucks gone...

Great umbrella, if only it didn’t RUST!

Was super excited when I bought this umbrella, nice and compact yet opens to a near full size umbrella. Unfortunately, all the hinges and pins Began to rust after the first use. By the second use, the rust got bad enough as to stain the fabric. Returned it soon after.

good until it’s not

This is my second time purchasing one of these 54” Vortex in the past two years. I thought I’d give it another shot or was thinking maybe my first experience was a one-off. Umbrella breaks very easily when you do the thing where you gently twirl it to shed the rain from it before you fold it back up. This is my second time with this umbrella. I’ve had their small one too (43”) that also did it, so that’s actually three strikes, and I’m out (I was just lucky the company warrantied the first small one). Don’t know what I’ll replace with, but you’re probably better off like me with something less expensive and proven.

broke after two uses

Broke after two uses just like my small vortex. Fails to collapse all the way and fails to stay open. Stays in the extended position, but not opened, loss of function.

Amazing umbrella

This umbrella never turns inside out. It is big enough to cover everything and not drip on your backside. Easy to handle. A bit heavy.
