Great Harness for Dogs' Hard on Gear
I have used the Ruffwear Webmaster for about a year, and it was a fantastic harness, but it just didn't quite do what I needed it to do. It was uncomfortable for my dog, and I would have to readjust the straps more frequently. We are very hard on our dog gear, so having something that is both comfortable and durable is incredibly important. It was durable, but definitely wasn't comfortable. After a couple of weeks of using this harness, we are absolutely in love. This harness fits my dog (3 year old female Siberian Husky), and the straps stay right where I adjusted them to be. This harness also feels less bulky with the same amount of durability. I don't regret this purchase at all, and it will continue to be a staple in my dog's gear setup.
Highly recommend this handy, durable harness.
Was looking for something strong but comfortable for my little pittie while hiking and covering rough terrain. This harness was exactly what I was looking for. We took our doggo to the crag and through mud, slopey hills, ledges, and stairs, and the harness held strong through it all - even bringing in a few compliments from hikers. The harness itself is strong and durable and water resistant, but also comes with a handy harness on the top that is very handy when the trail gets a little too hairy and doggo needs to be in suitcase mode.
Great harness for senior pets!
I love this harness! I was looking at this harness on the Ruffwear website for YEARS before deciding to finally get it. It's lightweight, super adjustable for each dog, and has all the features I want for my senior dog. She's almost 15, so a way to help her up into cars and off the bed is important to me (even though she still does fine on her own. That was the biggest reason I wanted this harness for her, but I like the two back attachments for her too. For potty breaks I use the regular metal attachment, but when I'm walking both dogs I use the very back attachment so that she can stay ahead of my much younger dog and set the pace. We still go on daily walks and hikes, but I make sure we are going the speed that she wants to go so that she doesn't get too tired. That back attachment gives her those extra few inches. The first straps behind the elbows are so far back! There's no rubbing at all, so she's doing the full range of motion with her shoulders. I'm so happy I finally bought it. She is wearing the size small, even though she's a large/XL in basically all other dog gear. I was worried about that, but went with the measurement guide. It is spot on. She's right on the edge of small/medium, but in the medium the undercarriage piece would have gone well beyond her ribcage. That isn't ideal for lifting. If you're dog is between sizes as well, I suggest going smaller if they are adults, unless they are exceptionally long.
Perfect for deep chested skinny dogs
Our pup is a pointer, husky, greyhound mix. She has the deep chest of a greyhound and the broad shoulders of a GSP. Finding a harness to fit has been tough. This harness fits beautifully! It doesn't restrict her shoulders, pinch behind her front legs, and prevents her from backing out. It is also light and flexible. It won't be hot on summer hikes, and seems like it will dry quickly when out swimming.
Great crag dog harness
Love this harness but the handle on the back of the xs seems to be a little too small.
Prevent escape artist from backing out of harness
==Great harness for walking an escape artist doggo== My dog can be skittish at times and back away. With the two belly bands (properly tightened), she CANNOT backout of this harness. In another harness only having one belly band, she was able to slip backwards out of the harness. ==Wish it was a bit stronger for car use== Even though there is a loop on top that a seatbelt buckle (and the seatbelt) can slip through, I'm not sure that belly band buckles would hold up in the case of a car crash. I have another harness I use for road trips that is much more robust. But when I take her to the dogpark, I don't want to be swapping her from that harness to this one for the walk portion. So I take my chances and use this one for those short drives.
Well Designed, Comfortable
Jemma is a two year old rescue dog of mixed breed, a very smart bundle of energy weighing 37 lbs. The size medium is perfect for her weight and physical proportions. The Flagline harness has two adjustments under the torso and one high on the chest. This three pronged support is better than our previous harness from a different brand, which had two. It makes for a more customizable and comfortable fit. Once the adjustments are dialed in there is no sagging, constriction, or evidence of discomfort with strong pulling. The padded fabric on the underside supports the dog well if necessary to pick her up by the handle just behind the leash clip point. We haven't had this long enough to assess durability, but so far so good. Would have given 5 stars if it included a pocket or sleeve on top for small items such as bags or treats.
Perfect for your growing puppy
Excellent harness for the growing puppy, to have total control and handling.
Works ok
This is an improvement over ruffears other harnesses. It has better support and is easier to put on because it goes over the head and buckles easily. It’s not ideal for use in the snow which my dog needs. It needs a larger handle as this one is too small for a gloved hand. It also needs at least one small pocket or some tie down patches. More reflective patches would be an improvement as well. It is well made as I have used it extensively and it is holding up well.
Beware of cheap metal
We have the same harness for our dog. The part where the leash hooks onto the harness just broke and our dog chased another dog and hurt the other dog because of it. The metal part that the leash clips onto is weak. Product was excellent until this problem.
