Perfect day bag for NYC trip
I purchased this bag for a trip to NYC and it worked out PERFECTLY. PROS: 1) It's large enough to contain everything you need for the whole day. For me that meant extra articles of clothing to transition from day to night (casual to fancy), a bottle of water, and a small umbrella. 2) The cell phone pouch is placed well to keep it in your sites (read: hard to pickpocket) and for easy access to take photos and use it to pay for things/show e-tickets. 3) I bought it in gray and it looked nice enough to take into upscale restaurants. 4) It's bigger than some similar bags, but not so big that I was asked to locker it at museums that don't allow large bags. CONS: 1) The key hook hangs in a weird place. It ultimately annoyed me, so I tucked it away in a pocket. 2) Because it was built with safety in mind there's no quick-release clip, making it a little cumbersome to take off when needed.

You get what you pay for…
After depending on the quality of a Sherpani convertible backpack for my work laptop, I purchased this Sherpani sling back. However, I need to throw it away, because it’s coming apart at the seams. I used this bag for only half of a year.

The (Almost) Perfect Bag Does Exist

This bag is the perfect balance of compact size and functionality. The interior pocket is just big enough to accommodate an iPad Air, and also fits a large water bottle, snacks, and a light jacket. The strap is padded and comfortable, and its pocket comfortably fits a large phone (iPhone Pro Max) or small point and shoot camera. I hope to not need any of the security features, but the zipper layout is thoughtful and offers options to deter easy access to the contents of the bag. My only gripe is that I would prefer a less prominent logo and additional colors. A solid 9/10 and I look forward to using this for years.

Water bottles do not fit in side pockets

The reason for my lower rating is that there is no water bottle I can find that will fit in either of the side pockets. One reason I bought this was because I wanted a day bag for travel that would hold a water bottle. In the store I did think the openings seemed small, but I was convinced I could make it work. At this point I think I've tried all the options and I am disappointed that I bought this bag because it doesn't work for me as I had intended. Other than that, I like that the strap is adjustable to either side and the bag was comfortable to wear all day while traveling.

Bottle holder is way too small

I loved everything about this bag except the side bottle holders were WAY too small. I couldn’t even fit a regular 12 oz plastic water bottle in them. They’re barely 2” diameter. Very disappointed. Will be returning it. I can’t find a crossbody bag with bottle holders that fit anything beyond 2.8” or so. My Hydroflask tumbler is 3”. Someone out there needs to start making bags and purses with larger bottle holders, please!

Great travel bag!

This bag was great for traveling around Italy. I felt my belongings were secure the entire time while in the heavy pickpocketing areas. It’s big enough for me to carry my DSLR camera with a few other items, but small enough for daily use. My only complaint was that if you tighten the strap, it doesn’t stay tightened. Overall great bag!

How Sherpani Women's Pike bag

I have only used the bag a few times, but I have enjoyed it so far. The main compartment is roomy. I really enjoy the chest pocket , it’s big enough for my IPhone pro in a case. The side pockets for bottles, I found one a REI 16 oz. Bottle I just keep in one. Otherwise they are small, can’t fit my normal yeti bottle. But it will fit in main compartment. Overall very nice bag.

The perfect travel and around town bag

I wanted a new bag to replace a Pacsafe bag I have used for years which I found to be really heavy. This bag is a marvel. It has all the safety features one could want in a travel bag, and it is very light weight. The shoulder strap can go on the left or the right. (Brilliant feature!) I like the key lanyard and the outer waterproof pocket in which I am now keeping my keys for ease of access but which will be great for a passport, boarding pass, and cell if it is raining when I am traveling. The cell phone pocket on the front makes it so easy to access my phone, meaning I can easily get to it so I can take photos or quickly answer a call. The inside of the bag is roomy, and I can easily secure the zipper for the main compartment where I store my wallet and other keys. The front pocket is a great place for anything that needs to be easily accessible, and during the pandemic,I find it works well to hold a couple masks and some hand sanitizer and my sunglasses. All in all, I think this is a wonderfully well-designed bag, and I am delighted by the purchase. Two thumbs up!

Great little day pack

Lightweight with pockets and room for everything you need for a day out and about . My only recommendation to Sherpani would be to have the large phone pocket moveable on the shoulder strap so you can set it in a comfortable more useable position.

Best available sling for men or women

Strangely enough, this sling is marketed exclusively for women. I bought it anyway because it’s the best available. It’s comfortable to wear crossbody or over one shoulder. The phone pocket on the strap is large, well-placed and helps balance the load in the bag. It also has zippered pockets and solid security features. The grey looks fine, but I wish they offered a wider range of colors. Note: I’ve been carrying a sling for many years now and have tried pretty much everything on the market. This is the best I’ve found, by far.
