Maybe/Maybe Not
I have purchased 3 pairs of these shorts in the past. 2 most recently. My first pair, well was great until the zipper came apart. Unfortunately for me I was outside me 365 day window. But for 80 bucks and a little over a year of wear I wasn't to upset. So I purchased 2 more. They are super comfortable alot of movement. I wouldn't say they are sweat proof. Definitely not water resistant or stain resistant. I am giving 2 stars because with less than 2 months of wear on my new pair, the stiching on the leather patch is coming undone, so we know the rest of it is not well put together as well. I would return or exchange but I will mend for now and see what happens. Sometimes an easy fix is well just easier. But beware, for the cost. They may come undone.
Not Fast Drying. YES Sweat not NO Sweat.
These shorts are NOT fast drying. They absorbed sweat during the first hour of my hike and stayed wet the remaining 6 hours. My shirt dried out completely during my 1 hour lunch break, but these shorts did not dry out at all. My lower torso was cold and uncomfortable at the end of the day as the sun set. Worst of all, it looked like went to the restroom and forgot to unzip. Embarrassing.
Could have been great
Overall, great shorts. Minus one star for the zipper breaking after 2 months. Wound up having a tailor fix b/c I liked the shorts enough and an exchange wasn't possible (sold out). REI was great, and refunded me the tailor charge. Good fit for those of us that have quads and a butt. Material is sturdy but comfy.
Great shorts BUT........
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My Duer shorts have been worn casually a few times and washed twice (per label) but are already showing signs of the fabric wearing. I’m disappointed as this has not happened with my other Duer shorts/pants.

Excellent shorts for warmer weather, soft and have nice stretch.
Awesome shorts - still slim fit
These shorts are great – super comfortable and stretchy. I have a muscular build with slightly bigger than average thighs. The waist is very true to size, but not thighs. I have to peel the regular no sweat shorts off of me like one of those funny little round snacking cheeses with the red wax coating, but the “relaxed” version fits perfectly. They are still skin tight slim, but I don’t walk like I’ve had a broom handle surgically implanted between the wallet and phone pocket. 10/10. Will purchase again.
Duer No, sweat
These shorts show sweat more than any short I’ve ever worn. It’s so obvious it’s embarrassing. And that’s just wearing them being active around town. They also hold on to moisture and become saggy. Disappointed on day one. Will return.
