I wanted to like this, but the plastic taste...

I really like how easy this is to use. My five year-old daughter can easily drink through the filter, while she struggles to suck hard enough for the Lifestraw filter straw to work. This is really a great product for great for her as a young child. But it has a plastic flavor in the bag. I washed it, rinsed it, and hoped it would get better with time, but not for me. I tend to be sensitive to plastic flavors in my water, and I found it to be too much. If you are sensitive to plastic flavors, this may not be best for you. The filter seems great, and my young daughter seems to enjoy the convenience and ease of use.

Great water bottle for traveling. Space Saver!

This water bottle is a first for me. Usually I use a Hydroflask so having a non metal bottle is different. But I love it. I can easily fit this bottle in my backpack or even in my little lunch bag I use for the kids. And it's great knowing I have a filter so I know I am always drinking clean fresh H2O. The material of the Life straw is nice also because it's has grip to hold onto it.

Great at filtering, but bag is small

I think this filter is definitely the most durable of the squeeze filters I have tried, the bottle feels least likely to spring a leak. The flow rate is pretty good, however I would definitely recommend going with a larger bag size than 22 fl. oz. Of course you can say that the filter will do 3 litres per minute, but with such a small bag that's definitely not possible, you'll have to keep refilling regularly. This size would probably be best for a trail running situation where you are just going to drink directly from the bag (especially because if you are squeezing into a different container it is hard to get the last bit out of the bag so you aren't going to be filtering 22 oz with each fill. But in terms of the filter action I think it is very good and is a very convenient system that takes up a small footprint in the pack. The only other reason I knocked off a star was because somehow the filter managed to unscrew itself from the cap in the bag the first time I put it in my pack. You definitely want to check to make sure everything is screwed together before something accidentally gets dropped and floats away. I do plan to keep bringing this on trips since the bag on my other squeeze filter fills me with trepidation but I will likely upgrade to a larger bag size.

Handy, quick water filter

This is a handy, small water filtration device. What I liked: At first I was skeptical about the size. But I came to really like it. The small size is easy to stow and easy to fill up quickly. It squeezes the water out easily. I was a little skeptical of the small filter, having always used a pump filter. But one water source we used it one was cloudy though it was flowing steadily. The water filtered out clear and had no taste. What I didn't like: The opening at the top of the bag is plenty big to fill with water, but when washing the bag out, there's no good way to dry out the inside. This isn't a flaw of the product so much as it is a reality of bag-type water containers. Overall: It's a good product and works as expected. In my opinion this size is perfect to me for medium length hikes where you know you'll have some water sources. You can carry less water in your pack and use this to supplement the water that you're carrying or as an emergency backup. It could also be great for traveling to an area where your unsure about the water quality.

Packable and EASY to use! Love it.

My use: trail running, overnight hiking, and bikepacking. The form factor of this collapsible filter bottle is indeed practical! It's lightweight, the smaller size is enough to get you to the next water source in a jam if something goes wrong with your other bottle(s), and the construction is proving to be quite good. I have used the Lifestraw Straws for years but they can't refill other bottles, and the Sawyer Squeeze-type filter needs to attach to another bottle or pouch, which adds up on the space and stuff. This product is most similar to the slightly more flimsy feeling Katadyn collapsible bottle and honestly - this one has me sold for now. On longer runs and races, I use a hydration vest (see pictures) and the soft flasks don't hold as much as I'd like some days. This Lifestraw bottle is a game-changer for me. The little tapered nozzle is perfect for refilling bottles with small openings (soft flask or Smartwater, whatever you've got). I toss it in my pack and it doesn't feel like it's even there, but then after I find a water source and refill my other flasks, I can fill this and it fits perfectly in the front of my vest with the other soft flasks if I want to bring more water for the next segment of a run. While hiking and bikepacking, all the above applies. This bottle is collapsable, lightweight, efficient, and easy to use for refilling other bottles. I tend to carry more water bottles on my person while hiking and biking, and this has proven to be a no-fuss bottle for filtering water on trail. The construction of the bottle feels durable. The pouch has a grippy texture to it. The lid is easy to remove and install. The mouth nozzle felt narrow at first but it's effective and serves a good function. The pouch has notable welded seams, which I'm sure helps ensure squeezing water through the filter isn't an issue. It's really great and I'm taking it with me everywhere now. Now that spring is finally springing, I'll give it a solid test all summer and probably return with a longer review down the road. Happy trails!

Love it Easy clean water

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the lifestraw peak series collapsible squeeze bottle filter system as an emergency way to clean safe water. It is very easy to use and clean the filter system. I highly recommend everyone have at least one to have on hand for emergency situations. I can wait to gift one to my daughter for backpacking. I first tried it with gathered rain water and it was crystal clear and taste good. Durable and light weight.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What a neat water bottle! Easy to take with you anywhere you go. Has it's own filter system included which is awesome for taking on a hike or out fishing! That's what I'm going to use it for when I go away! I can't wait to be able to use it as it's collapsible and easy to throw in my backpack or throw in my duffle. Super great product that I strongly suggest you grab!

Love It!

I bought the first one for my husband and we take it hiking, biking, and kayaking with us in case we run out of water. I love filling it with water from a creek or waterfall to get some fresh mountain water even if we didn't run out of water! Bought another as a gift for my future son-in-law who camps, hikes, and travels a lot.

Use it every day

I have used the LifeStraw Squeeze Water Filter almost daily for months. The barn well does not have much of a filter so this product provides me with a way to feel more confident in the quality of water I'm drinking. This newer design is an improvement since it can be used inside the provided bottle or attached to the outside of a different compatible bottle. The first week or so of use I detected a faint taste/smell as a few others have pointed out but with continued use it is no longer an issue. The rings on the filter/bottle provide an adequate way to hang it if needed. I wish I had gotten the larger version since this smaller size needs to be refilled often. If I were hiking its size makes it very portable. My only issue is with the syringe provided for cleaning. The suction is not adequate to pull enough water through the filter and begins to leak out before it can be cleaned properly.

Safe and Convenient!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Lifestraw Peak Series Collapsible Squeeze Water Bottle Filter System 650ml is a convenient way to take water with you anywhere you go. I have been using while I do errands and exercising. I will definitely want to take with me when I travel. Easy to use. Water taste great. Durable. Versatile, water can be drunk directly from bottle or to fill other containers. You can use the filter as a straw. Comes with a backwash syringe. My favorite thing though is that the bottle is collapsible. Filter lasts a long time. I highly recommend to those who want a filter water bottle that is convenient to use and gives you safe water to drink at anytime.
