Happy knees! Muscular triceps!

I took them on an alpine hiking trip and put them through a lot of strain going up and down hundreds of meters. I'm 128lbs and 5'0". They held steadily. While in Switzerland, I ended up buying rubber tips to not hear the clatch clatch sound of them hitting the ground. Also, the rubber tips add a bit of shock absorption. It took some getting used to, to not grip too tightly and end up straining my wrists instead of my knees! Using them, I get a full body workout with defined triceps. I would take them off for really steep ascents. I would recommend getting a backpack that has an easy way for them to attach at one side (and not two--at one side, you would get them faster).

Handled well in all types of weather and terrain!

I really like Leki trekking poles and these did not disappoint. In my opinion trekking poles should be part of your equipment on ANY hike. They are marketed as "women's" hence the turquoise touches (if you care about colors you may or may not like that). The handles were no smaller than their original Leki trekking poles, which I was thankful for and I definitely love the cork handles. We walked in rain, hail, freezing temps and then soaring temps with tons of sweating and the handles felt great. If you care about weight these were 2 ounces lighter than my other Leki poles. I would have loved for them to be a little lighter. All in all they were great and wouldn't hesitate hiking with them again.

Lightweight and comfortable!

These came to me securely packed. They were a little difficult to get out of the package, but the plastic clips that hold them to the package can be saved and used to store the poles later. I'd been wondering whether trekking poles would help reduce pain and fatigue when walking/climbing, and these definitely do. They are also very lovely and easy to use. The handles are made of a material that looks like cork, but is a little firmer. The handles were comfortable to hold even when my grip got loose and sloppy towards the end of the walk. The shape allows you to use your entire hand and exert pressure in a number of ways. The poles themselves are lightweight, but never felt flimsy or in danger of bending. However, they did vibrate a bit in use, and a couple times they looked like there might be some danger of bending. Using these poles in hiking soon became intuitive. They saved me from a nasty fall when my foot got caught under a tree root mid-step. The poles were able to find firm footing over a number of terrains, including rocky, sandy, and rough wash areas. The poles are easy to collapse when not in use, and the weight of carrying them did not bother me. If you are going to clip these to your pack, I strongly recommend keeping the plastic caps and using them to protect the ends of the poles. The ends of the poles are sharp, and can scratch skin or damage a pack if not covered. Also, I found the finish on the poles unexpectedly fragile. The scratch shown was present after my first gentle use of the poles. Finally, the measurements for setting the poles to the right height are all in centimeters. Most of us don't know that off the top of our heads! I also had to set the poles to almost their maximum extension for most comfortable use. (I'm only 5 ft 4 in.) In all, these are useful and pretty tools, but I have concerns about their durability. I am going to use the plastic clips from the packaging to hold these poles together in storage to try to minimize damage to the finish.

What your knees need

These are the first poles I've used or purchased, so I don't have anything to compare them to, but I absolutely love these. Very easy to set up. The locking lever for height adjustment is easy to open and close and stays locked when in use. The grips are very comfortable, and the poles are very lightweight as you'd expect from these. My knees usually bother me (several surgeries on both) on all terrain, however after using these on a trail I felt none of the usual pain/discomfort I usually get from hiking. Added bonus was how secure I felt when navigating between snow pack, ice, slush, mud, and loose soil.

These trekking poles are very light weight, comfortable, rugged and easy to use. The locking system for size adjustment is smooth and secure. I wish they came with snowbaskets for the winter months. Overall a great trekking pole.

Easy to adjust and durable

Overall, these are very solid poles - lightweight, durable, and easy to adjust. I did have to deal with the locks being too loose and the poles contracting, but the locks are able to be hand-tightened. They were hard to turn by hand, but I did have a multi-tool handy so was able to use the pliers on that to get them to tighten more easily. Once tightened, no slipping issues at all. The cork handles were very nice, and the hand straps were easy to adjust on the fly. Definitely lessen the impact on knees and made me feel more confident on my hikes with looser stone going downhill, especially with a backpack on. I was able to strap these easily and compactly on the outside of my backpacking bag. Note that rubber tips are not included with the poles, so depending on use may want to purchase those separately. Overall, these are solid poles for the price-point.

Love the speed lock/hinge!

I haven't had a new pair of trekking poles in ages (let's face it, this isn't something you regularly replace). So it was a treat to see some big improvements in a few places that make these poles easy to use. I *love* the "speed lock" hinge release - these are much more convenient and easier to use than the twist/screw on/off of my old poles. On the bottom hinge, I got in the habit of making sure the bulky part of the hinge faced out (away from my legs) so I wouldn't bump into the bulge of the hinge while hiking. They're very lightweight so you can stow them when they're not in use without feeling like you're really adding any weight to your load. And finally the cork handles have a good feel. On certain harder surfaces, I could sometimes feel a reverberation of the tip hitting the trail, but that happened with my old poles and it's not something that detracts from the actual utility of the poles. Finally, I didn't realize these were "women's" trekking poles - what does that mean? If you're extremely tall (over 6'5"?), these might not work for you. Since I'm 5'6", I think I'll have many years of use with these trekking poles.

Great Trekking Poles for Women!

The Leki Women's Lhasa trekking poles are a great option for women as the hand grips are nicely sized for smaller hands with a great handle fit. I used them for multiple day hikes over the course of a week and they felt comfortable all day long. They are light weight and easy to adjust with snapping lock mechanisms that keep the pole placement secure. They definitely make hiking easier especially on longer hikes in uneven terrain. These pack down nice and small as well and strapped down nicely onto the outside of my pack when not in use.

Sturdy, lightweight poles

Couldn't be happier with these. They are pricier than the ones you can find on Amazon, but they have a very comfortable grip and are both sturdy and lightweight--and the telescoping adjustable length works smoothly. Great for navigating hikes around tree roots, rocks, a bit of ice, and lots of fallen leaves
