Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements.
SHORT: Some pants are available in short sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 2.5 inches shorter than regular sizes.
TALL: Some pants, shirts, jackets and parkas are available in tall sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 3 inches longer and a rise that is 1 inch longer, a shirt or jacket body that is 2 inches longer, a parka body that is 2.5 inches longer and sleeves that are 2.5 inches longer than regular sizes.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

Packable and reliable.
Start the summer morning hikes with an extra layer and packs to nothingness when you are done with it. Stops wind. Used several times in light rain… good to get you back to the car/camp. Pockets are a plus. Fit is excellent.
Excellent layer for those “in-between temps
An excellent outer layer for windy and/or wet runs where a full jacket is not necessarily. This thing packs down so small that I am able to put it in a medium-sized pocket on my running belt “just in case” I need it - or throw it on from the start for wind protection in a minimalist package. This is now my go-to outer layer for windy runs where a jacket would be overkill. I don’t think you can go wrong with this vest. I will admit that it is a little pricey for a vest - but still, a few runs with it and I don’t think you will mind too much. My favorite use is as a wind protection layer to wear outside and reinforce my Nike Therma-FIT Repel half-zip. The two form an excellent one-two punch for those ‘tweener temperatures that require layering and stowing capability.
Great quality, but too tight underneath the armpit
I absolutely love this vest, especially when paired with my Mountain Hardwear Airmesh!! The one thing though, that I think could and should be improved is that it needs more room under the armpits. The spandex seem rides up just a little too high under the arms making it feel slightly uncomfortable. If there was like 2 more inches of space underneath the armpits I think this would be the best wind vest out there, but for now I'm just gonna stick with my Kor Airshell vest. Also an XXL Tall would be much appreciated please and thank you!!
REI beat Patagonia & Lululemon to it!
You can wear this vest (over a running shirt) through the peak of the day (circa 80 degrees...forgetting you have it on with ease, A+ weight & breathability) into the evening running, tennis, _____ (insert your favorite outdoor activity). If you go really hard and soak this vest (take it off), give it 30 seconds of whips in the wind, and it is back to bone dry. Cons: Bring on more colors!! & a 1/2 zip!
Saying goodbye is so hard sometimes.
Vests are a big part of my gear. I was looking to replace a light weight that served me well for maybe 20 years. I saw this REI light weight vest and thought I'd give it a try. I am not disappointed!
Great on windy days
Ran a half marathon in this on a cold and windy morning with a windchill below 20 degrees. Was very comfortable and lightweight. Would recommend.
Wonderful product
This could be the perfect running vest. Blocks wind and breathable in the back. Extremely light weight
Not terribly useful
This vest is paper thin, and I just don't see it being very useful. I can't imagine it provides any warmth, and since it only has a DWR treatment and it's a vest, its not going to protect from weather at all. This would all be fine if it provided some utility, but with only one tiny chest pocket it doesn't help a whole lot. I know that it's meant to be lightweight and packable, but adding 2 inside drop pockets is so easy and only requires 2 bits of additional material, along with being incredibly handy to have. I purchased this along with the insulated version, which I am very happy with. It's still very light and packs down to a size just hardly bigger than this vest. The difference is it provides just a bit of warmth along with 4 more pockets making it much more useful.
Excellent vest
This is a very good lightweight vest. I have worn on all my runs in the 3 weeks I’ve had it. Temp range from 32F to 50F. Some breezy days but no rain. Light rip stop front with a stretchy mesh on the back. Slim cut for mobility and low drag. One chest pocket big enough for gloves. I think it’s a great product even compared to traditional running brands.
Lightweight and effective
This is a a great vest for running and xc skate skiing. It blocks wind in the front, and the back vented panel is breathable. I'm 5' 10'' 155 lbs and a medium fits well. I wear a medium in most other jackets and tops.
