Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements.
SHORT: Some pants are available in short sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 2.5 inches shorter than regular sizes.
TALL: Some pants, shirts, jackets and parkas are available in tall sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 3 inches longer and a rise that is 1 inch longer, a shirt or jacket body that is 2 inches longer, a parka body that is 2.5 inches longer and sleeves that are 2.5 inches longer than regular sizes.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

Excellent heat retention & moisture wicking!
I've worn the REI Co-op Swiftland Half-zip everyday for the last 5 days. It has been my go to for walking the dog, throwing the ball and lifting. I'll be breaking this down into 4 categories - Fit, Features, Performance and Best use: Fit: My Swiftland is a size small, and it is absolutely true to that size. As someone who 5'10, 155lbs and has firmly been a 'smedium' for most of their life, it's refreshing to see something that is actually small. That said, this is designed to fit and contour to your body, if you don't like your clothing to be 100% form fitting then you should size up. Image 1 is the best representation I can provide to show this. Features: In true REI fashion the Swiftland has several nice to have features: The REI logo and wrist tabs are both reflective. There are thumb tabs for runners and for keeping your hands warmer. There are also two YKK zippers (shown in image 4) on the neck zipper, both can go up or down allowing you to show off your chest hair while also rocking a turtle neck - it's true purpose and why you'd want this is beyond me, but its there. Performance: The interior is completely lined with the soft mini squares shown in image 3. My quick googlefu tells me this is supposed to help with heat retention and moisture wicking, so to test this I wore this while walking the dog and lifting weights. There are several steep hills in my neighborhood, this allows me to break a sweat and gets my heart rate up around 140 while my dog laughs at me with his low center of gravity. Lately the weather in my area has been cold (35-45), so I typically wear this with a coat over and shed the coat once I'm warm enough. I wouldn't wear the Swiftland by itself below 50 degrees if my heart rate wasn't elevated enough, above 55 and this is fine by itself. While lifting inside the house I found myself to sweat considerably more but by the end of both activities I'm not left feeling clammy, though I do tend to take my shirt off in an attempt to impress my wife. Best Use: It's clear that this was designed for cold weather running. I'd say this works equally well as a layer for hiking on colder days or even by itself if the weather permits. If you're looking for something to fit that bill, then this is it chief. Pros: It makes my shoulders look awesome. Warm. Excellent moisture wicking for the amount of heat retention. Cons: It's VERY tight / form fitting. After wash #2 the some seams started to fray.
Good
Good top, well made and very comfortable but I suspect I'm not going to get a lot of wear out of it. I find it only works well in a narrow set of running conditions. It needs to be cold out with no wind. I heat up quickly in this but if there's any cold breeze it gives no protection without another layer that's windresistent, and then it's too hot. I bought it for running and with the branding on the chest that's the only time I will wear it. Just not sure that's going to be often enough. It is a good product, just should have researched it a bit more thoroughly before purchase.
Warm and breathable!
Like the title says, the Swiftland Half-Zip pullover offers warmth on a spectrum. It’s light enough to stuff into a small pack but warm enough to act as a go-to mid layer on those brisk mornings at the crag or on the trail. I’ve found that it’s a great pullover for when I’m out climbing or running and it’s between 40°F and 60°F. Funnily enough, I’ve never been much of a half-zip person, though I’m sold on this one. Having a set of zippers that can open the front both directions is a cool plus, but not necessarily incredibly functional (for me at least). The jacket does come with a small front pocket large enough for a pair of gloves, which would pair well with the thumb loops at the ends of the sleeves. I’m a 5’10” medium-build guy and the medium pullover fits great on me. Even with thumb loops engaged, I can raise my arms above my head without my torso showing—so this jacket is definitely long enough. My only dislike is the inside material (which boils down to personal preference). Functionally, the ribbed pattern allows for air to be trapped between the material to maximize insulation in an already very thin pullover. It’s a great concept, but the ribbed design isn’t something I usually run with solely for longevity reasons. Who knows, maybe you’ll fall in love with that particular part of this pullover. TLDR: Breathable, light, well-fitted, a great mid-layer for brisk temperatures.
Love this shirt
Form, fit, and function are perfect. The half-zip is ideal for shedding heat; material is dense enough for cooler weather, but would need to be augmented with a windbreaker for strong, cold winds; and, the sleeves offer both thumb loops and yet enough flex to pull up if over-heating. Zipper pocket is good for a key or credit card. Have not packed the shirt into the chest pocket for storage. Sizing (large) is good for me - 6'2 and 180 - not skin tight and perfect in shoulders and sleeves. I have two colors. Satisfied with purchase and recommend to others.
Best 1/4 zip
I have tons of quarter zip shirts. This one is my absolute favorite. I like the waffle interior and the medium weight of the shirt. The fit is perfect. I wish they had more colors. I'd seriously buy every color. I have a size large and I am 6' and 195 pounds.
love this top
Initially I thought this pullover was too flimsy. The mesh weave is less dense than I am accustomed to. (You can see through it if you hold it up to the light). But it performs brilliantly. Somehow it’s both warm and breathable and lightweight. It quickly became my “go to” long sleeve for running through the winter. I even wore it dirty several times because I preferred it so much to all my others. (I know, I’m gross, but I run alone and nobody ever noticed because it doesn’t stink). Highly recommended.
Best ever!!!
I have at least 10 quarter zips. (Yes, my family teases me.) This shirt is the best shirt I have. I love the waffle like interior feel. I love the fit - not too tight or too loose. It is a relatively think shirt, but is more like a medium weight. The length is perfect, not too short which occasionally happens. I’m 195# and 6’ tall. The only thing I wish is that were more colors. I like Patagonia R1, but this has a better fit- roomier arms, roomier body, $30 cheaper, longer body.
*Ultra Light* grid fleece
Seems people are fairly getting confused about the weight of this fleece. It is NOT Polartec’s most common ~1cm X ~1cm grid fleece fabric. This is about half that. The smooth face fabric is the same, but the grid is way smaller. It’s a micro grid. That makes it more breathable, less warm, and lighter weight. It’s nearly identical to the discontinued Patagucci I think R1 micro grid fleece. It works best next to skin, so maybe buy the snugger of two sizes; I went medium instead of large and am stoked. I wear it from summer nights, presently, to mid winter backcountry skiing base layer. Soaked thru, it dries as fast as any other fabric out there, and way faster & more completely than most. Not dissimilar to the Mtn Hrdwr air mesh fabric. Its durable. And softer than the standard Polartec power grid fleece for whatever reason. For all those reasons I actually prefer it to the more common 1cm power grid.
Lightweight & Functional
I am not sure if this shirt is more of a feather weight fleece or heavy weight base layer but it may just be both. The grid patterned/ waffle interior fleece is one of my favorite styles and it really works well in this shirt. The waffle feels great against bare skin and stretches/ flexes with easy in every direction. Couple that flexibility with the lightweight and you barely notice you are wearing this shirt while hiking or exercising. I also find it nice to toss this on at the beginning of a cool day or hike as a light mid-layer and peal it off as I warm up. Over all this shirt is extremely functional with its stretch/ weight, and its good warmth range makes it very versatile from a base layer to mid-layer to being used in a multi layer system.
Lightweight Warmth
Purchased this as a lightweight midlayer or active baselayer. The product is warm for its weight and fits well. The sleeves are a little long for the size but that makes the thumbholes more comfortable to use. An unexpected benefit not noted in the description is the dual zipper. This allows for venting at the chest using the bottom zipper while keeping the top zipper zipped. This allows for venting without the collar flopping around. The item will not block the wind due to its thin construction. The item does NOT pack into itself, despite notes on the site. The tag description of this feature has been covered by marker on the received item. I tend to run between medium and large in items and found the large to have a nice fit without being overly baggy.
