Great shorts with a great source of material. Nice length for the not so brave. Sizing could create issue. I wear a Large in Nine Trails shorts. Had to size down to a Medium in the Baggies. Not for a look, but due to running out of string to tighten. 6’7”, 205.

Didn’t know I could actually find something from Patagonia that I hated. Way too baggy. Way over sized. I’m a L or even XL in most any brand but especially Patagonia. Should have order medium! The elastic is a joke even tho I now know I should have ordered smaller. Just feel like some big box store made these and should cost $20.

Great Feel Run Big

They feel great, comfortable, and multi-use, but they do run big in the waist. Usually wear large, but I have to wear a medium in these. 71” tall and 185 lbs and medium is the best fit. These are my favorite shorts and I buy a couple pair each year to replace other brands shorts. They are great for hiking, lounging, or swimming; a great all around shorts. Yes I’ll continue to buy more and unlike a previous rating, there is string to tighten them on your waist and an elastic waistband

My go-to in the summer

I wear these for everything in the summer and sometimes in the winter indoors. You can go hiking, jump in the creek, dry off and go to dinner. Sometimes workout in these then shower in them and they are clean again. On some shoestring travel trips, I've worn these exclusively, washing them in the sink every few days. They look sharp and sporty. I've had 8 pairs of these. I would recommend black and blue, though khaki looks nice, too.

They get better and better

Every four or five years, I buy another pair of Patagonia swim trunks. I’ve now got a few that are as good as they ever were. That’s how much I love them. And each edition is better than the last. The latest is the best one yet for hard swimming and body surfing. The pockets are designed to not allow water in. The waist tie is the cleanest yet, with all the snug you need. And this year’s pattern. Oo La La! C’est magnifique!

Over 2000 miles

I hike the Appalachian Trail with a pair of baggies. I usually wear a large in shorts (36 inches). But I bought a medium. It worked out great. I lost 35 pounds three months in. That drawstring was tested to the extreme. Although I like the shorts, I cut the net liner our and just wear my Exoficio underwear with the shorts.

Flexible and light

I’ve had these for a few weeks now. They offer full range of motion and are pretty light. The mesh interior felt a bit like swim trunks at first, but the more I wear them the more secure they feel. I love the material! The sizing is a bit off. Normally I’d be a L or an XL but fit into M just fine with these shorts.

Does not maintain color

My husband bought these in September and used them two times in a hot tub. They faded extremely badly. Thought perhaps it was the one pair. (Bought the teal) returned while on vacation and found exactly same pair at REI in another state. He wore them twice during trip and they faded from the hotel pool. Yes we rinsed them...no dryer. Very disappointed. Returned second pair today. Sales person at rei return was surprised how truly badly they faded
