Decent for the price
I've worn these about a dozen times snowboarding. They're decently warm and make my hands sweat quite a bit over 35*. The lining isn't super well secured inside the shell of the mitten and will often invert itself when I remove my hands from the mittens especially when damp. This makes them a little annoying to put back on and the installation doesn't distribute very well most of the time when fixing the liner. The biggest issue I have with them is that they're not very water resistant. I know they're not marketed as waterproof but I often finish a day of snowboarding with them absolutely soaked even when the temps are well below freezing. For the price they're a decent backup mitten or for use at a resort or while winter hiking or camping. Keep your expectations managed past that.
Keeping my hands warm!
I’ve been suffering from freezing fingers this winter, even with the heaviest-duty ski gloves I can find, so I decided to try some mittens instead. These did the trick! Not overly expensive, but they seem well-made, and keep my hands and fingers WARM! Bear in mind, I’m not working a winter shift at the South Pole, I’m outside in Northern Ohio (same thing, sometimes) shoveling, snow-blowing, and chiseling the ice off the cars. But these have kept my fingers and hands warm, even when I’ve been out quite a while in single-digit weather. In fact, when I’m done, I stick them over the heat vent for a little while because I found my hands sweat a little while wearing them, so I want the thr inside of the mittens to be dried in case I have to go back out there in a few hours. Yeah, I have had to take one off now and then for a few seconds when I need a little extra dexterity, but they go right back on and warm up those fragile fingers!
Good for temps above 30 degrees
These gloves fit me well, I like them, but maybe it's because I'm getting older, but at 30 degrees and below they don't keep my hands very warm, unless there's no wind.
Great Mitten for Hitting the Slope
Mittens are great and kept fingers warm at single digit temps @ 10,000' with no hand warmers. Pockets for warmers in the the back are great along with wrist straps making sure you don't drop them on the lifts. When skiing with temps in the high 20's hands started sweating.
Very Warm Mittens
I needed some mittens for cold January hikes and these were priced right and the reviews were positive. My first time out the temp was -2 F and my hands were warm for the hour I was outside. The next time I wore them, the temp was 10 F and not only were my hands warm, they were even sweating after about an hour. Maybe they're too warm for me, but I'm not going to complain. They're also comfortable and seem to be windproof as well
Roasty Toasty!
Roasty toasty mittens! Wore these skiing and they kept my hands warm all day. They have a great elastic band, you can slip around your wrist, allowing you to take them off and not have them drop to the ground. Little zippered area let's you keep the lip balm handy at all times. You will love these!
Great pair of mittens -great features as described
Great pair of mittens! Features are useful. Well designed, made of good materials. Perform well - so far down to teens Fahrenheit.
OK so far
These gloves have kept my hands warm in temperatures around 25 to 30 degrees. 've only had them for a month and it may be too early to tell
Low quality fastener materials
After wearing the same snowboard gloves for over 10 years, they finally needed replacement. I purchased these CTR mittens and have worn them for about maybe 10 snowboarding trips. The fasteners have broken on both gloves. Both the wrist strap that wraps around the wrist and the materials the clasp for the pull string on the end of the mittens. You can no longer tighten up the area around the wrist to keep snow out. This makes these gloves of little value.
Great mittens and great value!
These are as warm as advertised. I really like how far they pull over my wrists. They have little pockets on the top where you can keep credit cards, cash, keys handy (ha! -- see what I did there?)
