I really like this glove for belaying and rappelling when I’m ice climbing. The leather palms and dexterous fingers make for an excellent glove. I keep these in my coat when climbing (as I use my Ice gloves for that) and then I switch to these after I’m done. They are warm but not meant for extreme cold conditions.
If I'm out on a personal winter mission, or working in the mountains on a ski, ice or alpine outing - these gloves are with me. Built tough, these capable gloves are with me all winter long. I find that these gloves typically stay in my pack as my "warm" glove except for the colder or wetter days in the mountains.
A good glove is hard to find. These have an amazing combination of warmth and dexterity. I used them for both ice climbing and ski touring and would highly recommend!
I teach a lot of avalanche courses throughout the winter and really enjoy the warmth / dexterity / durability balance of these gloves. They keep my hands toasty while performing hand hardness tests on even the most frigid days in Rocky, yet are nimble enough for me to use while I jot down my snow profile notes or handle my rescue equipment.
