Great carry-on baggage, but...
I bought this last minute while on vacation, because as always, the souvenirs added up. There was definitely enough space in this (with some careful Tetris-ing and rolling of clothes) for several shirts and leggings, some toiletries, a small tote bag full of books, and the pair of Altras I picked up from the REI Garage Sale rack (turns out, my original shoes were *not* up to the task of hiking around the Bay Area!) I love that there are sturdy grab handles on 4 sides, good smaller pockets to help organize smaller items, the zippers and seams didn't strain at all while I stress-packed the morning of my flight home, and the backpack straps felt comfortable enough, although I wasn't carrying this bag a long distance using them. My only complaint is that instead of getting a longer shoulder strap with an adjustable buckle like the one shown in product photos, my bag had two shorter straps, one of which had a velcro-wrap handle. Due to the length of them and the unusual toggles on the ends, this didn't leave me with a shoulder strap long enough to carry the bag comfortably. I tried it, but it basically ended up that the straps were over my shoulder, and the bulk of the bag was sort of held in my hand? Not at all what I was expecting, that one. Overall, this is a good, sturdy bag that survived being thrown last-minute into the cargo hold of the plane (it was a packed flight, they asked volunteers to gate-check their bags) and was dumped out into baggage claim with only minor dust and one teensy scuff on it.

Terrible shoulder strap
I’ll use it because i already bought it but if i had messed around with the shoulder strap before i would've never bought it. The little plastic arrow clips are just short of impossible to get through the the loops. After about 10 minutes, a lot of force and some very painful fingers i was able to push it through. Now lets hope i don’t need to take it off because I genuinely don’t think it will. They also don’t rotate so the strap gets all twisted up. Really dumb design should’ve just been clips

Great for camping and more!

Received free product

This is a great duffle bag! There are many things I loved but to highlight a few: 1) it kept it's shape so it was easy for me to fold my clothes and keep them organized, 2) it opens nice and wide so you are not digging through everything to find what you need, and 3) I love that the shoulder strap is removable. The smaller bag that the duffel comes inside of is also awesome, great for toiletries! This bag does fold back up to it's original size, which impressed me. This survived a week long camping, rafting, hiking trip and still looks brand new. We are flying for another trip soon and will be taking this as a secondary bag for the beach and overnight trips.

Solid, basic bag

Received free product

This is a well made, basic bag. It doesn't have lots of pockets, but is sturdy. It goes back into its storage case easily. I didn't initially love how the shoulder strap attaches to the bag, but now am fine with it. I wish the bag's material had a little more give to it. I definitely wish that the shoulder strap had a pad on it to protect my shoulder.

Good value duffle.

It's a duffle that packs easily and doesn't break the bank. I like the stuff bag it comes with, which can double as a toiletry bag if you would like to use it as such. It's pretty lightweight and doesn't get too hot in the sun. I have two of these in 40l for the kids and another 60l, so I guess I have used a version of this bag 8-10 times. I expect something like this to last for at least 10 years and there are not signs that this won't do that. I wouldn't say it's overbuilt, and you can probably find something better for more money, but this will work fine for me.

Very nice bag

This is a nice duffel bag which I used to pack about four days worth of clothes. If you're trying to pack shoes and things like that it would be more like a weekend. The next size up (60L) would be a safer size to get if you think you might want to fit more than that, however it would also be a bit more unwieldy for shorter trips and you'd have a lot of extra room. Only downsides I would say are that the shoulder strap doesn't have cushioning and that it's extremely difficult to attach the shoulder strap to the bag. I plan on leaving it on so should just be a one-time annoyance, but I am not sure why they didn't just use a clip or make the loop slightly bigger. For the price though overall, it is a good value.

Went back for more

After one year, I now own three of these bags because of how simple, yet durable, they are. I use one to carry my sand volleyball gear, and it can fit two sets of boundary lines plus two balls, but barely. The side pocket is great for keeping keys, phones, etc out of the sand. My second bag is for my free diving gear, and it fits fins, snorkel, mask, weight belt, flashlights, towel, booties, gloves, and other small accessories. Remarkable considering this is the smallest size for this product line. The third bag is simply a gym bag, and it gets the job done. I’d buy more of these bags if they offered my colors, too! But I color coordinate which bag is which in my head and don’t want to confuse myself with duplicates.

Great Light Packing Duffel

Received free product

This duffel is the perfect size whether you're going on an overnight trip or a longer week vacation. It is so light and flexible that it was easy to take with me anywhere. (also a wonderful camping pillow as it doesn't have any hard clips or zippers on the outside). I love too, that it folds into the pouch that comes with it, which makes it so easy to store and unlike any other duffel I've had that you have to throw under the bed because they are bulky. Love this product! It is the perfect duffel for camping, plane travel, and road trips.

Nothing like 1/3 smaller than Big Haul 60

I am giving this one star to bring attention to the fact that the Big Haul 40 is not 1/3 smaller than the Big Haul 60 which I own. I wanted a bag about 1/3 smaller and ordered this online. It is MUCH smaller. With a soft bag you can't get exact measurements, but approximately the 60 when filled is about 29x16x14" = 6496 cubic inches. The Big Haul 40 is about 22x12x10" = 3196 cubic inches. That is less than 1/2 the capacity! I will return this and see if another brand works for me. To be fare, if this small bag fits your needs it is well made. I believe it would fit the overhead bin on an airplane. I guess it is on me for assuming 40 would be 2/3 of 60 in capacity.

Versatile bag

Received free product

There are so many things to love about this bag. The size is perfect for a weekend trip, loading up all the towels for a family day at the pool, or carrying all my kids stuff for a multi-day trip to the mountains. The strap can be removed or placed in multiple places. The outside pocket is convenient for securing necessities but best of all is the bag that it comes in that can be used for so many other things. Just an all around great way to carry whatever you need.
