I wanted to love these! I was looking for a heavyweight bib that I could use for resort riding and touring. The fit was perfect— not too slim but definitely athletic fit. I’m 6’4”, 195 lbs, the medium regular fit me well. I have a long torso and the shoulder straps were easily able to accommodate this. The shell material felt durable and well constructed. The 4 pocket configuration is awesome. Navy blue color is sharp!! I noticed there is a light polyester fleece liner in these pants once they arrived— probably makes these a bit too warm for touring. Also, my pants did not have a gear loop in the chest pocket (despite the description). With nowhere to put my Avy beacon for touring, I had to return these pants.
Love this bib! keeps me dry, great pocket sizes , but i moved up to a large because the medium was a little snug sitting on the lift! Im 5'7" 165 all in all great bib!
First rainy day of the ski season and these brand new (only worn 4 days) bibs didn't keep me dry. Wetted through on the rear end as well as at the bottom of the right leg zipper (even though it was all the way closed). Extremely disappointed. My prior Mt. Hardwear bibs lasted nearly 8 years but the Boundary Ridge didn't last 5 days. I expect my gear to keep out the water. Also the big flaps over the front pockets feel goofy if you're bending over as a snowboarder often. There's absolutely nothing that you could actually put in those pockets so you're left with a weird harder fabric reminding you it is there every time you go to buckle in. Will be returning as they are not waterproof and won't work in Pacific Northwest mountain weather.
High quality durable Gore fabric, tons of features. Really like the draw cord on the bottom of the pant to tighten up against a boot. Less snow creeping up. Easy to enter with the long two way zip on the side. The bib is exactly as advertised accept one feature "Centre pocket gear loop". I assumed this was for an Avy Transceiver, but there is no loop, maybe I am missing something. Nice if someone from Mountain hardware could explain? 6' tall 175 lbs, 42 hip, 34 waist, 32 inseam. Medium was a perfect fit to layer heavy or light underneath depending on weather. If you are looking for a tough durable bib for inside the ropes, outside the boundaries, some short trek skinning to untracked snow, this is it, if you want a lightweight bib for long tour days, this may not be right for you.
I'm a shorter guy so I needed something that used a shorter inseam and these are perfect. I got the Large/Short and they fit perfectly. Also I tested out the windproof and waterproof claims and they definitely check out. I stood outside on a windy day in the TX panhandle and sprayed the legs with the water hose and nothing penetrated. I expect to use these in the winter with the snow and when m family and I go on vacation to snowy location or national parks in the colder/snowy months.
Bought a pair for my husband and my 15 year old son. They both said the fabric is really high quality but because the bib is so high on the chest, it’s difficult to reach over and zip or unzip a pant leg. My husband thought they were too baggy in the knees which my son didn’t mind. My son decided to stick with a hand me down pair of Mountain Hardware bibs because they just had a more comfortable design for him.
I purchased these bibs after my previous pair (different brand) began to wear out. I'm glad I did, they feel bombproof. The Kangaroo pouch is great. I typically wear a 34x30 for pants but I found the larges to be too tight, especially when I bent over, so I went with the XL. My only complaint is that the accessory cord used on the zipper pulls feel flimsy. Overall I think these are a solid 3L Gore-Tex bib.
I recently purchased the Boundary Ridge bibs and have use them both for resort and multi day ski touring. I’m really happy with them, very waterproof but breathable, and design of pockets and adjusters that is well thought through. And I like the fit although they are a narrower fit than some would like. I’m tall and pretty thin.
First of all these go hard asf as the aesthetically speaking second they work really well. Even with east coast snow blowers I don’t get caked in snow. I am 170lbs and 6’1” and got a large. Originally I got a medium long which I returned because it was a little tight around my butt for reference im pretty lean/skiny.
Bough these to go with the Boundary Ridge Jacket and love them. I was looking for a jacket and bib pants to ski the resort and sidecountry and these are exactly what I was looking for. Great fit, lightweight and good pocket storage. Would definitely recommend.
