Sizing Notes

Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements.

SHORT: Some pants are available in short sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 2.5 inches shorter than regular sizes.

TALL: Some pants, shirts, jackets and parkas are available in tall sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 3 inches longer and a rise that is 1 inch longer, a shirt or jacket body that is 2 inches longer, a parka body that is 2.5 inches longer and sleeves that are 2.5 inches longer than regular sizes.

Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.

Inseam is measured to the floor.

Perfect for work.

I work in physical therapy and I needed something lightweight to fit over my customary shirt and tie as my coworkers keep the gym about 500 degrees below zero. It just arrived and it fits perfectly over my work clothes. It's Saturday so I tossed on a shirt and tie to check the fit. It is of weight, thickness and fit which will keep me warm and allow me to move without burning me up. Some have commented that the sleeves are not tight at the wrists which is true, but it fits perfect over the sleeves. Also, the size has been dinged for running large and long - that is also true. It is perfect for me as I'm 6' 2" with a long torso. It is very lightweight and if I used it for backpacking I would definitely wear it as a base layer. It is buttery soft and it feels nice against my skin - perfect for when I wear short sleeves. I bought the jacket on sale and I burned my dividend bucks to drop the price which dropped it down to $20 bucks and change. For me, that's about right. It is definitely not a $89.95 fleece jacket in my opinion and probably not worth $53.93 to me either This has to be taken with a grain of salt because all my work clothes come from thrift shops and Goodwill. This way if they get tore up or get something gross on them upstairs in inpatient I can simply toss them and not loose major money. It is a very sharp looking jacket which is something I really like. We are all outdoorsy types at work so I do spend good money for my gear. At work REI gear is always cool and my new jacket will allow me to have the envied new gear strut until someone buys something newer (we have no lives). In closing it's a sharp looking jacket, feels nice, fits great and for $53 bucks it really is a steal, but if one is looking for something to keep them really warm one probably might want to look for something thicker. One would also probably want to order one 1 size down for a tighter fit for hiking and backpacking.

A disappointment

As I retrieved this jacket from my mailbox I knew I was in for a let-down just by the weight (or lack of) of the package. It is stylish and good looking, but I wore it almost immediately to run an errand and discovered that it wasn't nearly as warm as I thought it would be. The wind whipped right through it and I had to return it. I was hoping for something much warmer.

Wonderful cozy fleece jacket

Soft, warm with arms long enough to keep hands warm too. I got the men's small for that reason. I would be a women's medium. Women's sizes have sleeves 2 inches shorter. The cuffs are not too tight, not too loose, just right for my tastes. My fairly large cell phone fits easily in the chest pocket and the hand pockets also zip and are very roomy. The zippers are sturdy and easy to use.

Perfect!

To me, this is the perfect jacket. I am 5' 10" 175 lbs, athletic build. I have broad shoulders and a narrow waist, this jacket fits great through the shoulders, the arms are wide enough to wear something underneath comfortably and narrow enough to be warm with a short sleeve underneath. I am amazed at the warmth of the Polartec fleese. It's not bulky, just thick enough to feel cozy. I agree with others it's not great in a cold wind, but if it's that cold I wear a soft shell or hard shell over it and I'm very comfortable. I have always liked having an exterior chest pocket so love that. And I'm a big fan of this jackets classic understated styling.

Well made, but oddly cut

Super warm, super high quality, but a weird cut. It feels about an inch too short, and the top is fitted while the tummy area feels billowy—and I'm definitely carrying a little extra there. For a tall person, it gets drafty around the waist. I've had this issue with REI brand clothing items before unfortunately. I feel like they're not made with taller folks in mind. I was so looking forward to this being The Fleece for me to wear on hikes and bum around in every day, replacing my closet full of old hoodies, but it looks like I'll need to keep looking. I think if you're 5'10" or below, you'll be in business. But if you're taller than that, I wouldn't recommend it.

Could not be more happy. My instant favorite

I saw this fleece jacket a year ago but held off buying. Just bought on clearance and I couldn’t be more happy. I have two or three other lightweight indoor/outdoor fleece type jacket sweaters, but this one instantly became my favorite. It’s lightweight, keeps me warm without overheating my body. The quality seems to be excellent. The zippers aren’t the heaviest quality, but they certainly aren’t cheap either. The fit is perfect. Size XL. I’m a senior with a bit of a paunch tummy, but this jacket fits me perfectly. Arm length is perfect too. As I mentioned, I could not ask for more, maybe with exception I.like it so much, I hope I don’t wear it out!

Great Jacket, horrible choice of fabirc

I like almost everything about this jacket, so much that I bought more than one. it's light, warm, soft, comfortable, and practical with zipper pockets, and looks good. However, after I washed ONCE, everything changed, the entire jacket pilled like crazy (see the photo attached, the top one has washed once, the bottom one is new), and it shrunk too.

Best fleece jacket I have found- stiff zipper, tho

This is the best fleece jacket I have found. The only drawback is the stiff zipper. I am assuming the design thought was to have it be a rugged/robust zipper, but then I find it uncomfortable when sitting where the zipper pressed into the body. I would be much happier with a zipper like Soflex. A little bit more of height on collar would be nice too.

My dad and his big belly love the jacket!

Dad wanted a warm comfy fleece with a zippered chest pocket so his iphone (yep, 76 year old with his first non-flip phone, gasp) would stop falling out; he'd spend hours looking for his, as he calls it, "my ipad." Uh, Dad, it's not an iPad.....I digress. Anywho, the fit is perfect for old dad's beer belly. Not a slim cut like my Arcteryx jackets. The zippers are sturdy, and the pockets very deep. So deep I'm just waiting for the day he "loses" his "iPad" in one of the cavernous pockets. Asked dad what rating he'd give this REI fleece, and he shouts (cuz he's pretty deaf) "looks like snow!" I take that as a solid A. On sale this is a screaming deal. FWIW, the height and weight range submitted for this review is for Dad, not me.

Meets my Needs!

Just what I needed and wanted! I am an active senior in Colorado and own a lot of outdoor gear, but this item was purchased to so that I could stay toasty warm inside our home on cold days and nights. It will be worn outside some in the spring and summer but mostly it will used indoors as i tend to run cold and I don't want to turn the heat up higher than 70 degrees. It's warm, soft against my skin and with pockets that keep my hands toasty warm. The fit runs large as I would normally take a medium but the small worked great! Works nice outside if I need to run to the mailbox or into the garage for something. Good looking and well made!

GREAT

Great fleece jacket for cool mornings and evenings outdoors. Not a heavy fleece. Great to put under a rain jacket/wind breaker or heavier coat. Cot XL and it fits true, the way I like with lots of room. Great for layering either as outer layer or under a outer layer. It's not a rain jacket. Finally a mobile phone pocket that will hold an iPhone 14 Pro MAX with room to spare so I assume it will hold the largest Android. REI had to go back 3o years to put in a rugged/heavy duty zipper. They and nearly all companies have been using the fine tooth zippers so they can save $1.50. The retro zipper pulls are nice and are easy to hold. Double-layer tall collar is great. Good size pockets.
