Uncomfortable thin fabric

I had hoped to like this product after reading about the mission to use recycled fabric. The design seems nice with the large chest pocket and colorful design. The one I received came in with some sort of discoloration on the shirt. I thought it might brush off but it seems to be in the fleece itself. The fit is decent but the neck is uncomfortably high when closed. The fabric is also thin and a bit rough inside the arms.

Versatile and Colorful

The Cotopaxi Half-Zip Sweater is a stylish and functional mid-layer, perfect for outdoor adventures or casual wear. Made with sustainable materials, it offers a soft, comfortable feel while providing excellent warmth and breathability. The half-zip design allows for easy ventilation, and the brand’s signature vibrant color-blocking gives it a unique, eye-catching look. For those who value sustainability, comfort, and style, it’s a solid choice.

Disappointed. I got a used product.

This product would have looked really cute if it were new. I got a used item and I know because it arrived not in original packing, just as is, and there was someone else’s hair in the jacket. The color was already faded and it looked overall very sad. I’m pretty disgusted at this point. It’s one of my first times purchasing from REI online and I don’t think I’ll do it any more often. I had purchased 4 Cotopaxi items in my order and I’m hoping they don’t all turn out like this. I don’t usually write reviews but I felt compelled to share this with others. I really wanted to like REI but this is a pretty disappointing experience. Some might say for the price, what did I expect, but I mean, if they were going to give us used stuff they should at least tell us. It’s misleading otherwise.

Perfect Go-To Fleece

I purchased this fleece a few months ago and have been wearing it constantly ever since! The kangaroo pocket is what really sold me on this bad boy. I also love that the chest pocket is functional. I’ve used it for odds and ends like chapstick or tampons. It’s got that retro vibe I love to it as well. I think it’s great that Cotopaxi uses recycled materials, definitely another selling point for me. Overall, I recommend this fleece! For reference, I am about 5”4 and 120ish pounds and I got the small. It’s a smidgen on the looser side but I prefer that fit. An extra small fit me as well, but I felt like it would be hard to wear much underneath it.

So great, just wish it was softer!

The only reason I’m giving this 4 stars is because it is not as soft as I hoped :’) it’s a bit textured? on the inside - I think REI’s own line of sweaters and Columbia’s gear are softer. But this fits great - the arms *could* be a few millimeters wider for people that have larger arms than em, but otherwise, this is great for lounging. I think I like this better than Patagonia’s quarter-zip fleeces because of the pockets and better fit :) For reference, I’m 5’2”, 125 lbs, athletic-y build, and got an XS that fits slim true-to-size! I wouldn’t be able to wear a sweater or hoodie under, but could wear a shirt or longsleeve, and layering over this would be easy.

Great - but not my favorite...

I really wanted to LOVE LOVE LOVE this fleece - but it's just a LOVE. A few small things could take it to the never-taking-it-off level... 1. It's a little boxy - which is saying a lot, because my rectangle body tends to be ok with boxy. A lot of fleeces with this cut that I have either have a little of elastic at the bottom hem, or a drawstring to cinch it just a little - would make a huge difference! 2. It is a lighter weight fleece, especially with the fabric base used - it isn't brushed on the inside, but is cross-hatched which makes it sit nicely against your skin but isn't quite as 'fluffy' as traditional fleece.

Cozy and warm

I own a number of Cotopaxi fleeces and just love them! This one is a little warmer than most of the others and has held up great through multiple washes. It runs a little large. I am 5'8, 135 lb and the small was plenty big.

Warm and colorful! Waffle weave lining is odd

This jacket does a great job in colder weather! Love the unique color options. If you haven't seen this in person, you should be aware that the inside lining has some kind of waffle weave over the fleece. For me, it felt scratchy on the first wear but softened after that. It waffle weave was a little unnerving at first, but I didn't notice it or think about it after a handful of wears. Size wise, this jacket may run small for those with wider hips. My hip dimensions are about 38.5" and a M fit me very comfortably. I range between a M and S, but I'm glad I got a M since it wasn't snug on my hips or broad shoulders.
