Fantastic battery life
Incredible battery life -- I bought the Coros Pace 2 a month ago and have run well over 100km since then plus daily wear and only had to charge it twice (and the first time was just to be on the safe side before going camping). GPS tracking seems to be flawless, the watch supports training plans, and there are many other features. This would be a great value watch at twice the price. No regrets about buying this watch.
PACE 2 gave me more than I expected for the money
When I decided to buy a sports watch, I decided that battery life was a key concern for my use, and that pretty much limited the field to the COROS brand. The PACE 2 has not disappointed in this area either. First off, the watch was already charged, right out of the box. Second, in the first 7 days I recorded 22 workouts and on top of that, the watch tracked my steps, heart rate, and other data 24 hours a day (I only remove it to shower)....and I didn't have to charge it the first time for a week! Another thing that surprised me is that there are several watch faces to choose from, and as you can see from one of my photos, I've changed mine from the original face it ships with. This is done through the well-designed companion phone app, as is much of the monitoring and analysis for the data the watch collects. I set the watch up to auto upload to Strava and doing so was easy. Wearing it on an 85 mile bike ride confirmed that it was as accurate as my Wahoo bike computer, and I couldn't even tell I was wearing the watch during that ride. The PACE 2 is so light, it often feels like it isn't there and I like the strap more than I thought I would. It's very comfortable and has a great range of adjustability. One of the additional things I wasn't expecting from this watch purchase was the sleep data. The second photo shows the companion screen for this within the phone app. What's not to like at this price! Well, I do have one request for COROS: Please add "Walking" and "Hiking" workouts. As mentioned above, I have all of my walks and hikes auto uploaded to Strava, and Strava has walking and hiking workouts, but since the PACE 2 doesn't have those workouts, I have to select "Run" and then manually change it from a run within Strava, after it uploads. Certainly not even close to being a deal killer and I'm certain that the COROS PACE 2 will end up being among my favorite purchases of 2021.
Get this watch!
I have had my Coros Pace watch for over 4 years now and absolutely love it. Recently my band broke - mind you after 4 years of wearing it 24 hours a day and they replaced the band for free shipped to my house. Long winded way to say they back their watches and go above and beyond. The watch has a very long battery life. I have to charge mine every week and a half with every day use and some multi hour runs. The battery life is the best part of this watch. I have also found the pricing to be low for the quality esspecially in comparison to brands like Garmin. I really cannot recommend this watch enough!
Great purchase.
Really happy with this purchase. Great battery life. Smaller than other smartwatches (aside from fitbits). Heart rate monitoring isn’t accurate for when my heart rate is building early in a workout or if I am doing intervals. However I think that is the case for most optical detectors. In any case it links up easily with my polar chest strap and that of course is extremely accurate. For some context, I exercise everyday and do longer activities (bike, hike) on weekends. Not sure how great it would be for big alpine pursuits because it’s not going to show you a map or more detailed gps info.
Excellent value, focused GPS sports watch
Lots to like here. I appreciate the light weight, very adjustable silicone band, "just right" sized and ALWAYS ON screen, the Coros app/data/metrics, and the BATTERY. After my previous smart watch (which I liked a lot and had amazing tie-ins with my phone) died, I wanted a standalone GPS watch with great battery life that I could use for running and biking, and also all day or multi-day activities, and this seemed up to the task. While it isn't as slick or refined as the "smart" watch, it still does notifications for calls, messages, calendar, etc, from the phone. And it turns out, that is all I really need from my watch, so I'm a happy camper. It is amazing after all these years to not have to plug the watch in EVERY NIGHT. If you're looking for onboard music, voice activation, touchscreen, etc, you aren't getting that here. And that's OK in my book. The only real drawback I see is that, for no good reason other than product differentiation, Coros hasn't included a trail running, hiking or walking mode in the software. Although it includes a barometric altimeter, they must want you to buy the Apex or higher in order to get the "alpine" modes. That said, you can just use the regular running mode for trail runs, and I've been using "GPS Cardio" for hikes and walks, to keep my running stats just for running. Easy! At this price point, based on my use for the last few months and all the "real life" reviews I read, I think it's hard to find a better equipped watch.
'
I needed the return/exchange this watch. It suddenly stopped working/went blank and would not accept a charge. Otherwise, the watch performs as promised. There is a bit of a lag between when you begin your workout and when the heartrate monitor accurately provides feedback. This tends to be five to seven minutes. During that time, the output may be very high or very low. If you are super serious about training based on your heartrate (e.g., monitoring your lactic acid threshold), I would add a cheststrap. For me, the convenience of being able to simply use the watch that I am wearing is worth the tradeoff of some loss of accuracy. The battery for this watch lasts about two weeks between charges. I love this! I can charge my watch once per week and not worry about battery life.
Excellent device, better customer service!
I move from Garmin to Coros and after more than a year I can tell I’m never going back! Coros pace 2 has it all and the app experience is just great! Also Excellent customer service and warranty! I just follow the steps on how to present a claim and My watch has been replaced in less than a week. Very happy I have choose Coros for my training device. I will recommend to everyone!
Great watch for triathlon
Overall probably the best combination of price and features of any GPS watch on the market right now. I mainly use it for triathlon (so swimming biking and running, as well as some hiking/general fitness tracking) and it performs incredibly well. On the bike, it pairs seamlessly with my Stages power meter, and on the run the GPS is fantastic. Open water swimming is a little bit iffy, but swim workouts in an indoor pool are generally very accurate. The race/triathlon mode also works very well! There is also a lot of customization available for the various screens which is nice. I only wear the watch during workouts but battery life is generally like a week, so 6-8 workouts at least. The only negative is the HR monitoring can be poor during swimming, but that is common with most optical HR monitors found in GPS watches so I can't really ding Coros for that on their budget model. However HR for dry sports like running and cycling is very accurate! Overall I would definitely recommend.
Especially great during event training!
I love my new Coros Pace 2 watch. So lightweight! and fun to use! I'm a recreational runner, doing 1-2 half-marathons and other fun events each year. I just did a half-marathon last weekend, after using this watch and the resulting data on my training runs. Especially helpful to me during the training was the continuous monitoring of my mileage and pacing, the updated average/max heart rates during activity, average cadence and stride lengths, performance ratings, my fatigue level and suggested recovery times, my aerobic/anaerobic levels... all of it helped me train better for this event, and run a PR. The graphs produced on the app are simple to read while providing good helpful information. Also, I usually wear reading glasses, as most things are difficult for me to read without them. This watch face is easy to read, you can organize the info YOU want to see, in the order you want to see it, so that while you're running you can take a quick glance down at your watch and the info is all readily available. No reading glasses needed. And, the watch face is easy to read in direct sunlight with sunglasses on, no glare or weird colors due to the UV protection on your sunglasses. As I said, I'm a recreational runner, without professional guidance or a coach, and I feel like this watch with it's capabilities helped me progress my running safely, maintaining injury free status while pushing my limits. It's easy to use too!! and the battery life is awesome!! I've already recommended it to my friends and family.
Pace 2 is a kickass timepiece
This has to be one of the most wild deals. Where most watches focus on phone connectivity and touch screen LCD displays, COROS sacrifices the features of a smart watch for a workhorse of GPS watches. For 200 USD the Pace 2 packs a sucker punch. Its fast-tracking, smooth, and minimal design makes it a staple for every single run. It feels like a $400 Garmin with even more features.
