waterproof & ultralight!

I've been looking for waterproof rain mats for years & love these. A little delicate, but the weight is perfect & I would not carry them if they were heavier. For fall backpacking with a chance of rain, these and a pair of light gloves are perfect, especially when the rain is near freezing. Excited to wear them over my cross country gloves for some extra warmth this winter. 2.5layer fabric feels a little delicate, but wearing an under glove with these I am sure that I will get may years of use. Palms have nice grips for tracking poles. These fit trim but true to size Highly recommended.

Perfect for sudden weather shifts!

I brought these with me bikepacking for just-in-case situations-and I had exactly that as I was crossing a mountain pass. First it started to hail a bit, then it started to downpour. I quickly slipped my mitts on over my gloves and not only did they keep my hands dry, they protected them from the cold wind on the descent down the mountain. Unfortunately, I didn't secure them well when I took them off and they blew away without me noticing-I had my second pair on order before I got home. Will make sure to secure them better next time!

Helium Rain Mits need a rethink

Just back from Great Divide Trail. Bought these rain mits hoping to keep hands warm and dry on cold, wet days. While they did reduce the chill by cutting the wind they werent dry at all - presumably because cuffs are much to short to stay tucked behind cuffs of my OR Helium raincoat. I even added an "idiot string" to the handy loops to try and keep the cuffs from collecting rainwater but... no luck. Hey OR how about adding a couple more inches of cuff in tje next run?

Definitely NOT waterproof!

I bought these for hiking in the rain. First hike I took them on, not even 2.5 miles in and the rainwater had leaked into the top of the mittens. Seems like the seam at the top is not sealed and allowed the water in. I would not recommend these as they did not do the only job I expected them to do. I have purchased other "waterproof" items from OR and they have exceeded my expectations on quality and actually being waterproof. But these did not work at all.

Perfect

Super lightweight, carried for the entirety of my CDT thru-hike in my hip belt pockets for easy access and barely noticed they were there when I wasn't wearing them. Nice over my Primaloft mittens in the rain and snow and even a great little shield from the wind and chill on cold mornings. I have very small hands and while they always stayed on I definitely wouldn't mind a greater size range.

Really keep your hands dry!

I hoped these would do the job, and they do! I have a problem with cold hands and feet, so keeping my hands dry is vital. I tested them on a warmer (60s) day, to avoid getting in trouble if they did not work, but they kept my hands dry as a bone in driving rain for several hours, so as far as I'm concerned, it's a win! I will wear them over my warm mittens this winter.

Super Lightweight

Super lightweight and well made, so light it would be silly not to pack them when there is a chance of rain. Used in a heavy rainfall and they got a little bit clammy over my bike gloves but overall performed well. Also purchased Versaliner gloves, they were perfect and they will be my go to wet weather gloves for riding.

Dry hands on long hikes

These were exactly what I was looking for. I do wish there was a smaller size, but these can fit over warm mitts or be worn on their own. They keep my hands dry while hiking with poles and that makes all the difference for a happy hike. Super light and pack up so small it barely makes a difference to my ruck weight.

Great for rainy days

I love using these mitts on rainy days when I am hiking with poles. They keep my hands dry and often warm in temps as low as 5 degrees. I can also put other gloves under them for warmth and waterproofness. That's a word. They pack down and weigh nothing so you can't go wrong keeping these in your every day carry.

Kept my warm leather mitts dry in Alaska

I bought these to go on an Alaskan cruise. It was wet and cool and they kept my warm leather mitts dry. I'll also use them at home when I'm trying to get my steps in on a rainy day. Love them and highly recommend. I have small hands and the size small fit over my size small leather gloves.
