Great bag

First backpacking trip with seeker was a success with a group. Small and compact, disappeared in m pack, but came to life when needed as a dirty bag for gravity filter. Used with a befree filter which was terrible, but not the fault of this bag. Bag was hung from bear bag line and performed as expected. No complaints from a group of 11 mostly kids on taste of water filtered from bag. Will use up any remaining life on befree then will break that off and use threads on mouth for Sawyer or Platy. Do not buy hype of BeFree filter!!! But this is a tough and light reservoir; thrown around while full; hung from a carabineer while full; rolled up repeatedly to stow, and it seems brand new. Material is light and seemingly indestructible. Regardless of filter situation, mouth is wide and easier to fill.

Good form, bad taste

This water carrier has good form and has worked well so far (4L size). As a soft bladder, you have to be a bit careful pouring water out of it. I worry that that the handles will be durable, yet cannot report any failure yet. It's downside (and reason for two stars): this material imparts a bad taste to the water contents, resembling the chemical taste that might come drinking from a garden house, sitting in the sun. I thought that might improve after a couple uses, as the apparently volatile compounds get washed out or diluted. Yet after half-dozen uses, that bad taste still there and not diminishing notably either. Thus, if combining water from this with other uses, such as cooking, this is ok. But I do not recommend drinking directly, water stored in this product.

Vacation Essential

I previously bought the older set of 2L, 3L and 4L Seekers last year for a family road trip to SD. We found them so useful, I did not hesitate getting the new set this year for our upcoming trip to UT. I like the redesign 4L Seeker. The long, slim design make it easier to fit in most places and the handle is very useful. The reason why I decided to but another set is to be able to leave a set in the hotel freezer while we are out during the day. Since we only see our rooms at night, there isn't enough time to freeze all the packs in those tiny mini freezers overnight. These make great ice packs for coolers and provide cold drinking water on a hot day.

Seeker 4L-Mammoth backcountry use

I switched filtration systems and replaced my previous 3L "dirty bag" with this for backcountry adventures. I used it this past weekend and am pleased thus far with the performance of the 4L-Mammoth. Collapsible size is a plus. Large opening makes it possible to fill directly into the vessel and while I have not eliminated my scoop (cut off tennis ball container) I see that happening in the near future. I was able to integrate a quick connect piece off the BeFree filter directly to my backpack bladder and do a gravity feed which was really nice. So far, very great. Time will tell on durability in the field.

Very Durable

I bought this online without realizing the size capacity and was completely shocked when I received it. It was bigger than I needed so I did end up exchanging it for a smaller option. This would be great for camping trips or traveling with family or friends. The accessories offered with this brand are also interesting, I would have liked to try the tap attachment if I kept it. The quality of material was surprisingly high, very thick and durable. I did like that it had a handle on it that wasn’t bulky. I would have kept it if I didn’t already have a water bladder that holds around the same amount.

Leaked after first use

The reservoir sprung a leak after being used only once, soaking a sleeping bag in the process. Super disappointed.

Looks cool and practical but mine lasted 1 year

2nd time i bought hydrapak products and both had the same problem small holes close to the mouth and of course water soaks my bag or other place where i carry it 2nd one was even worse because the mouth is to tight to screw and the lid does not adhere to the hand when wet so minus one star for design
