I typically wear 10.5 wide. I also have a rather high arch. The 11 wide fits me perfect. My foot measures E width. This is my 3rd pair of Bridgers but the first "vent" version. I wear them every day and each pair has lasted me 2 years with the sole wearing through from too much walking on concrete sidewalk. Very comfortable and the vent Bridgers breath much better so my feet don't sweat as much in hot weather. The insole is awesome so I no longer need to purchase superfeet for an additional $50. Great shoes that I can walk in all day without getting sore feet. My feet are 61 years old fyi.
I like the boots but I am disappointed in the quality of the string latch/eyelets. The string latch at the top of the boot broke after less than 10 miles of hiking/walking. This was a two or three months after I had bought them. I did not realize that I could have them replaced until a fellow REI member told me about their policy. Now it is too late because it is a little over a year since I bought them. I no longer have the ankle support, but other than that, I like the boots.
Nice looking boot but wide was still not roomy enough for a 3E foot.
I was really impressed with appearance the Oboz Bridger Vent Med Hiking Boots when I removed them from the box. Really nice looking boots, and they appeared super-sturdy. Imagine my displeasure, when I discovered that the size 12's were at least a full size too small for my feet (I wear size 12 in everything else without issue). Now I endure either $9 to ship them back or a drive to the store -- that I was trying to avoid, in Covid times, with a mail order purchase. Quite displeased!
Nice boots, good traction, good construction. But my experience is that they run VERY small. Size 12 is usually a comfy, roomy fit for me. Size 12 in these boots felt more like a 10.5 or 11. Especially for the width, I'd recommend going up at least a full size from what you normally wear
Good stable shoe for walking. The wide size is very helpful for me, some wide shoes are still pretty narrow, but these fit well. The toe box is shaped well
Shoe appears to be well built and sturdy but was difficult to put on. Even from the outside the wide version appears to be narrow like a regular show.
"Wide" does not seem wide. My other "wide" Oboz (winter boots) fit awesomely. These supposedly wide-sized Bridger boots do not seem wide at all.
Right out of the box I put these boots on and you’re comfortable with my hiking socks I feel great perfect fit couldn’t be happier thanks
The materials are premium, and the outsole is built to last! I liked how the arch of the foot was supported, and the heel cup keeps your foot in place. What I disliked is the lack of any cushion on the insole. Also, something about the top padding and lacing didn’t seem right. They might get better after a lot of breaking in, needing the padding to compress and the outsole to not feel like solid wood. I returned them, and tried on about 5 other kinds of waterproof hiking mid boots. I ended up going with the Keen Targhee III.
