This size chart is meant to be a guide only, as Danner styles are built from various lasts that fit each foot differently. Generally, most people size down a half to a full size when buying Danner boots as compared to their shoe size from other major footwear brands.

These shoes right out of the box was a perfect fit! They don’t have to be broken in to be completely comfortable! I wear them for my 10-14 hour work day. My feet don’t hurt at the end of the day. I would buy more but they are out of stock! Please make more Danner. I have had these shoes for two years and they are still my go to shoe. I’m just starting to see wear on them. I also use these for hiking and biking. I love the all black! I can wear these with dress slacks too when I need! I recommend them to anyone and everyone that I get a chance too. They are definitely worth the money. I don’t mind when it’s quality!
These shoes seem well constructed, but they not working for me personally. I have pairs of Mountain Pass and Jack II in this size and love them, but I have been favoring a more minimalist trail runner for several years and the adjustment back to a larger heel-to-toe drop is hard on my knees. I suspect this is the cause of my knee pain while wearing these, but at any rate I would not recommend these shoes to someone who is used to a smaller heel-to-toe drop and less thick soles. However, I would definitely recommend this to someone who likes a cushiony sole and doesn't mind a more "traditional" heel-to-toe drop.
Got these on some weird sale on REI website for $50-now the price is back to MSRP. First, taking off a star for the MSRP. At $170, these are way overpriced. Danner is just using their name and the fact that some of their products are USA made to inflate the price. These are well-made, but a very basic shoe, and made in Vietnam-The price should reflect that. Otherwise, these shoes have minimal cushioning and support by modern standards. Wore these on a couple of 3 hour hikes. One rocky/technical and the other a smooth urban type trail. My feet hurt after both. I could feel almost every rock on the technical trail. These shoes would be good for wearing around town or short, non-technical trails. Otherwise avoid them. You can get the same performance with some Merrell shoes with MSRP at $100 or less.
Great looking and feeling shoes. Docking a star however for the sticker that Danner decided to fuse to one of the insoles...not acceptable on nearly $200 shoes.
I’ve got around 100 miles on this shoe. The cushion and support is adequate and soles are grippy on both wet and dry rock. I’ve used them in the heat of Arkansas and climbing 14ers in Colorado. Plan to take them to the Sierra soon! Good toe splay too!
Great service, Great Product and Great Price! This is the second pair of these that I have. I had the all brown pair and just got the all black pair. I bought these for hiking and traveling. They are rugged enough you can go out on a trail nice and enough that you can "dress casual" and go out for a nice dinner at the end of your day. My first pair was D and the second pair EE. If you have a wide foot like I do, I'd definitely go with the EE because there's signifcantly more room in the toe box.
Love my Danner's! The first time I wore them I thought I would just break them in on a short hike. 7 miles later my feet were still in great shape. I can't say enough about how comfortable they are. Now they have almost 500 miles on them, and still going strong.
These Danners did not work for me, and I had to return them. They looked great, and I really wanted to love them. Unfortunately, inside of each shoe was a seam that dug into my ankles, even when not tied particularly tightly. This was very uncomfortable and would have been Blister City for me in no time. In addition, no matter how tightly I tied the shoes, my heels still slid up a little bit with each step, rubbing against the back of the shoe. Again, B-City bound! Sadly, these shoes just did not play nice with my feet.
I had heard good things about Danner shoes so I decided to give them a try. I think I’ll stick to the brands I usually get though. I received the trail 2650 mesh the end of March and 4 months in they were pretty much useless. The sides started to tear at about 60 days at the toe crease and eventually became a hole and separated from the sole. The sole is also coming apart at the heels and along the sides in various spots. I really expected a lot more life out of a danner shoe especially for the cost.
Bought these to wear on duty at work as I'm mostly inside and my Ft. Lewis were overkill. Probably my 7th pair of Danners and I expect they'll hold up well like all the other ones have. Even after wearing for a 12 hour shift, I find these as my new "go to" when taking a walk or running errands. My only complaint is a slight heel slip, however, I did go up a half size, so that might be part of the reason why. The support is excellent and I typically walk 4-5 miles a day without any foot fatigue.
