Product construction is high quality and installation is easy. The click-loc type bracket can be adjusted to accommodate various seat posts and a rider’s seat rail position. Inside the 1.6L bag, I stow a spare tube, tire levers, multi tool, zip ties, patch kit, while still having room for a tightly rolled light jacket, small pump, and phone or snack. Photos below show the bag on a Cannondale F5.
Excellent bag for gravel and mountain biking. I can easily fit two 27.5 tubes, patch kit, and tools, with room to spare. The closure system is easy to use, provides easy access, and is fully waterproof. Lastly, the mounting system uses a part that clamps to the seat rails, so the bag slides in and latches in place. This results in a very secure mount, so the bag stays in place and doesn’t sway when I am climbing out of the saddle. I have tried several bags on my gravel bike and they all had problems of one kind or another, until now.
The bag installed with no problems
I am a fan of Orlieb products which are designed well and are truly waterproof. Size is reasonable but install takes time since attachment plastic piece is tough to work with. Once attached I am very happy.
This is a high-quality and spacious bag. Large enough for a jacket/vest, tools, tubes and food for a long day. I bought it for a "Credit Card Tour" so I would have a rain jacket at all times on my bike, just in case. I like the quick release feature. Very functional for larger items that will not fit in a top tube bag or smaller frame bag.
So much better than anything else I looked at. Design, function, quality and usability are all aces. Can’t recommend highly rough.
The good: It is an ortlieb quality waterproof bag, big for a saddle bag which is what I wanted, for those long road trips in the fall or spring where you might need to pack in a down vest or rain coat. The bad: You'd think a company with a reputation like Ortlieb would figure out a mounting system that works. On my Kona Rove gravel bike with Brooks Saddle, the mount won't even fit on the seat posts. On my Felt road bike with ProLogic seat, the mount fits and can be screwed but the clip that locks in to place is so far back that the seat post gets in the way and the bag can't be locked in to place. Suggestion: if you have $60 to spend on a saddle bag, your money would be just as well spent thrown in to the wind. As no two saddles and saddle bars are the same you have no way to know if this will fit without buying it, so I would suggest taking a pass or making sure there is one in the REI store to try on your bike (they aren't stocked in my store). I was only able to use the bag bungied on to rear rack, which is a big ol' waste of money and not what I bought it for and now it can't be returned. hmmmmpph.
