NRS .5 hydroskin jacket.

I got the .05 ml hydro skin jacket just to cover my arms while wearing an NRS farmer John wetsuit (which I love! ) for kayaking. I like the jacket a lot. It kept me a little warmer in the water and I was definitely able to move around freely. I tested it in the Puget Sound In the summer. It is not mean for winter water temps. I think they fit true to size to slightly smaller. But not significant. I am a female, I purchased the men’s jacket.

Warm and Comfortable

I read all the reviews (some not so positive) and bought this size M anyway. I am very thin since I do a lot of running. My shirt size is 15 1/2 and 32/33, 38" chest and 28" waist. I have worn this twice and very happy. Definitely keeps me warmer in cold water and it looks nice. You can see the shiny, metallic titanium thread from certain angles. Note the material in the underarm area is thinner and stretchy. It fits a little snug in the upper arms but less so on my skinny forearms. When I put on my skirt and PDF, I don't notice the fit in my torso or waist. Really like the full zip which is easy to put on.

Quality construction

It is intended to be tight, but you may want to go a size up

Good insulation layer and easy to put on

Great addition to my fall kayaking gear. Easy to put on and good insulation. NOT a wetsuit, but very effective way to keep safe and warm.

poor fit

Fit is too loose in the torso/ abdominal area. I’m returning it for a size smaller but suspect that I’ll have sleeves too short. Maybe it could be made with zipper extensions on the sides of the torso when more belly room is needed. If you have an athletic build this won’t work- water will just come up the front.

Great product

Ordered a medium men's for myself, a female who generally wears small to medium. It's a bit loose in the front but perfect in the arms for length and room for moving arms for paddling. Great material. Definitely kept me warm.
