This light is not only bright, but it also has an incredible battery life. One of the reasons I like NiteRider lights is the ability to clip them onto things, such as my rack trunk bag. Many other lights do not have that functionality, and NiteRider shines bright because of that. Even though the clip function cannot be seen in any photo or as part of the description of the product on REI or even the manufacturer's site, it is there. The only reason I did not give this 5 starts is because the cover for the (micro USB) charging port does not feel like it secures in as designed. The crushed limestone dust of many of the trails I ride in Ohio most aspects of my ride get dusty, and this light is no exception. Whether you need the clip, like I did, or prefer to mount to the post, which it can also do. You cannot go wrong. I even bought two more for my Burley Bark Ranger when my rescue is riding with me.
