I walked the Camino (500 miles) in these socks and did not get a single blister. A year later they are still in great condition! I just bought three new pair to use on this yeas' Camino. I cannot recommend them enough! I just went to Italy and Greece for 10 days and did not have time to wash, so I used regular socks and it was awful. On the two days I used my DT socks, I swear my feet thanked me and told me to use them again, even if dirty, bc the other plane Hanes socks were not enough on the rough streets and cobblestones!
These are my favorite sock for running, under boots, tennis shoes- everything. I started wearing Darn Tough when another brand's socks weren't lasting very long. These socks last!!!! I'm talking years and years. They get a little less fluffy over the years but there are no holes. Incredible quality! AND this company is privately owned and takes care of their employees. USA made. A success story and one I am thrilled to support.
I bought these socks to hike the Grand Canyon Rim to Rim. I wore them on a 19 mile hike as a trial, and they were perfect. At the end of the day, my feet were completely free of hot spots. These socks are great for hiking in hot weather. I was able to layer them with toe socks underneath. They were also very comfortable and durable. For reference, I am a size 8.5-9 shoe and I bought a size Medium.
I bought several pair of good socks to walk the camino and these were the best no rubbing no blisters and let my feet breathe.
I wore the Darn Tough socks - both light hiker and medium weight socks hiking the Tour du Mont Blanc. 10 days of hiking 5+ hours a day up and down mountain passes. Not one blister, my feet were very comfortable. I sweat a lot, but these socks kept my feet dry. Definitely recommend these socks, I won't go hiking without them!
Best hiking socks. 9 days of intermittent rain and snow, with low top hikers that quit being waterproof on day 4. They were wet, still warm, no blisters, and dried fast.
I love these socks! They’re perfect for long days on the trail and lightweight enough to wear running. They do a great job of wicking sweat and I love this length because I never get rocks in my socks and they’re still very breathable! Highly recommend :)
These are the best hiking socks I own! I have 4 pairs and have been using them for years, I wouldn't hike in anything else. They're incredibly durable, well cushioned and breathable. On a recent hike of the JMT, I took 3 pairs of Darn Tough socks and they held up incredibly well - hardly any wear and tear on them despite being worn for hundreds of miles.
What a great sock. I love this brand of sock. They hold up well, stay tight, and don't give me blisters while hiking on long hikes with sweaty feet. I actually bought this pair for my teenage daughter after owning my own pairs for years. She loved them also, and she doesn't complain about hiking anymore. If you have a teenage daughter, you know what a blessing this is. Nothing but peace and harmony on the family hikes now, as long as we remember the snacks.
Excellent hiking socks-- even for the tropics. I wore these to climb Petit Piton in St. Lucia, West Indies, Caribbean last weekend. Kept my feet dry and cool despite the hot sun and nearly vertical climb. No blisters, no sweat, just smooth comfort. I love REI.
