My favorite pack ever

I'm in love with this pack. It's insanely comfy. The mesh on the back helps you air out when it's too hot, the main compartment is large, and there are just enough smaller compartments to keep everything organized. I've had this pack since it came out a couple years ago and it's held up super well. I'm actually tempted to buy another one in case they stop making it. I would absolutely recommend this pack.

Ferrari on my back

Sturdy and solid. I used to hike with a beat up bag that would dig into my shoulders, and using this was like I had no pack at all, all touch points hugged my body comfortably. I have a smaller frame, and I am glad I found a pack that fits me perfectly! A papillon dog can fit comfortably in it too!

A Handy Little Backpack!

Excellent little backpack - feels great to wear, and the streamlined look just makes me feel cool. I'm a backpack snob and have used Gregory and Osprey backpacks before, but I think I like this Deuter best! I love that they designed a small backpack WITH structure and adequate support such as the hip belts and mesh backing (because sometimes even little backpacks hurt after a while of wearing them). I could wear this all day! *If you are a super thin person, the hip belt may not fit you, so just make sure to check measurements etc.*

Not so great

Tried this pack out based on the positive reviews but it was awful. Really lacking in design - no front pocket so you lose lots of storage and easy access items you might not want to keep in your pack (rain gear, snacks, charger). No hip pockets and only one side pocket. They put a weird side zipper storage compartment where the other side pocket should be, but it’s not big enough to be useful ….assuming this was their cheap fix to the lack of a front pocket. The hip belt has zero padding and is VERY hard to adjust. Overall I was really disappointed in this pack. Not the great design or quality I’m used to from Deuter.

All I needed to level up!

This gem has truly helped me expand my hiking experiences this year as I have pushed for longer and more challenging outings. Adjusting the fit was easy and the Deuter has been comfortable -- a previous challenge with my 34Fs. The airflow available across the back, the comfortable security of the fit, and the little extras like the sunglass loop and multiple pockets allow me to be able to focus on the hike and not where I have my stuff stashed. My 2L Osprey reservoir fits perfectly.

So comfortable to wear!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this on a day trip to Yosemite. This backpack is light, packable, and so comfortable to wear! It is the perfect size if you have to pack it in a suitcase for travel. There is enough room inside for your necessities like first aid, snacks and clothing such as a packable jacket. I used the mesh side pocket to hold a reusable water bottle for easy access. The other side pocket is an added touch and made up for not having a waistband pocket. The color is bight and beautiful(I have the yellow curry color). It even caught the attention of a bee that decided to follow me for a little bit! The most life changing thing is the excellent airflow. I had little to no back sweat after a 5hr hike because of the amazing back ventilation! I look forward to using it again and again and again!

Great bag. Love it.

Great companion to everywhere, mountain, beach, desert... Storage bags located both outside and inside of the cover is very useful. Best feature is the mesh that keeps the bag from touching my back. My appreciations to REI for carrying such wonderful bag.

The perfect daypack-durable and comfortable!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This backpack is perfect! It's lightweight yet still durable. The mesh on the back keeps my back cool. There's some structure to the back of the pack and it's just right. I'm 5'4" and 130lbs and the pack fits my frame perfectly. I love the material of the pack, the water bottle holder, the side pocket, the loops, the rain cover, the top pocket with key hook, and the colors are perfect! I use this pack for so many things from around town to work at coffee shops, to hikes to watering holes around town and I look forward to using it for longer day trips or minimalist over nighters.

Best Daypack

I actually bought this pack when it came out a couple years ago. I've dragged it all over the four corners of the US and parts of Mexico, using it as my daypack. It fits everything I need perfectly. I keep my rain jacket in the pocket underneath with the rainfly. The colors are so pretty (I have the aloe and blue), and the pack is very durable. I've scraped it on countless canyon walls and tree bark and it's still in perfect shape. But my favorite thing about the pack is the mesh system that keeps it off of your back. I cannot overstate this enough. When it's hot out, it's a lifesaver to have that breathing space for your back to air off. Not to mention, it's very comfortable. Would recommend this pack 10/10
