Truly waterproof, great value.

Took this on a 3-day bikepacking trip along with the Link Seatpack. I was skeptical at first about the rubber zipper but was so grateful to have a truly waterproof bag after two nights of rain! I was able to fit about 3 changes of clothes plus an extra water bottle in here. When the bag was packed full, it rubbed against my calves a bit but the slick material made it smooth and didn’t cause any sores or irritation from friction. I bought the size L and it fit my Lauf True Grit size L perfectly.

Good bag with some issues

The bag is sturdy and has been wearing well over several off-road bikepacking trips. I've stuffed it pretty full with a hydration bladder, sleeping pad, small toolkit, small electronics kit (battery, cables, etc), and food. With the vertical divider attached, the width remains narrow enough that my legs or knees don't rub on it. I've been caught in the rain and it's waterproof. The reason for only three stars is because the hook/loop straps are aggressive—very thick and scratchy. I appreciate their strength but they'll tear through your paint or clear coat within a couple of hours with the hook side facing in (as intended). I reversed them so the loop side was facing in and it functioned the same without as much abrasion. Either way, you will need some thick frame protection (I used self-sealing silicon tape in a pinch). I replaced mine with webbing and levered cam locks because the hook/loop also tends to peel just slightly and enough to catch my knee. The zipper is very stiff and can only be operated while stopped and off the bike. It takes two hands to open and close so it's difficult to grab anything while on the move. There isn't a liner inside the bag so it has the same rubber feel as the outside. This makes it difficult to slide a hydration bladder into it. I have to take everything out and detach the middle divider in order to get a full bladder in there. That said, I'm able to fit a 2L bladder in the back portion of the bag, with the divider in place, including a backpacking sleep pad and pump on top. The issues aren't bad enough to replace it but I wouldn't buy it again. There are a couple of other bags in a similar same price range I would choose over this because they have additional sections/pockets, a liner, and softer hook/loop fasteners.

Solidly built, but check for fit!

This bag is sturdy! It holds a ton of stuff and is really solidly built. The bag material is very durable and I expect it would be very long lasting and stand some serious bikepacking abuse. The only problem I have is that it didn't really fit my bike well. I currently have 3 water bottle holders on my frame and this interfered with two of them. I can move those, but it still wouldn't really fit that well. Make sure this bag will work for your frame, and if it does then it should be a definite yes. The bag keeps heavy stuff centered and low on your bike so that it doesn't affect the handling.

Not worth it.

I purchased this bag for a 6 month bike touring trip through Europe and it has been nothing but a pain. The zipper is unbelievably hard to open and close and after using it for a month it does not stay closed anymore. I have tried everything to fix it but every time I try it pops open and is impossible to get it to seal. The bag is now no longer actually waterproof. Now I am stuck with this for 4 more months and could not be more disappointed. Do not purchase this bag. Not worth it.

Could use compartments

It's one large cavity with a Velcro divider running vertically (up and down) in the middle-ish, which does not have to be utilized. You can leave the Velcro loose so the divider does nothing if you'd like. It can hold very large items since it is one single large space It's truly waterproof and pretty stiff/durable, which I enjoy. It holds its shape well It perfectly fits my 54 2020 Kona Rove's triangle perfectly. Absolutely ideal fit for maximizing used space. I wish it had two separate compartments though. One for the top and one for the bottom. I find it really difficult to get anything out of the bag without emptying a lot of it. I find it difficult to efficiently pack items in it. Having a separate lower compartment with a separate zipper would help a lot, or any mechanism to more easily access items inside

zipper broke

I bought this bag to do the GDMBR (2300 miles). It worked great until the zipper broke 13 days into the trip. The bag was not over stuffed and I think the extreme heat made the zipper soft and it detached. The waterproof frame bag concept is great but not a solid option for long distance rides.

Good frame bag with a waterproof zipper

This bag is waterproof, spacious and sturdy. All the things that I was looking for. However, just like all the other waterproof zippers, it is bit tough to open and close. The bag material seems durable. Because it is hard to open and close the zipper, that may affect the body of the bag overtime. I bought the Large size and it takes up all the space in my frame.

Nice Frame Bag if it fits your Bike

The bag is made of a nice bluesign approved waterproof material and has a waterproof zip. Like most truly waterproof zippers, it can be a bit awkward to use, but I prefer a little bit of work for a true waterproof bag. The hook & loop straps that are used to attach the bag to the frame are a simple design that does not use a D-ring to help with tensioning. I find is style of hook & loop strap a pain to use as the strap tends to catch on itself as you are trying to tighten it. The straps are removable, so you could replace them if desired or needed. While the positions of the top tube straps are fixed, the seat tube and down tube have an additional strap location to help with frame fit. The bag has an interior hook & loop vertical divider that can be used to keep the bag from becoming too wide. The divider doesn't reach the bottom of the bag, so small heavy items can drop under the divider and end up in the bottom of the bag. The bag comes in 3 different sizes to help with fame fit. I have a number of bicycles each has different size tubing, frame angles, and brake cabling styles. This bag in medium only fits one of them. But size isn't only reason that the frame bag didn't work on some of the bikes. The issue was the routing of the brake cables. The bag interfered with the exposed cable routing. Like any full frame bag, you’ll need to move your water bottles to another location on the bike.

Poor quality

Purchased this on a whim while out on a long bike ride, realizing I wanted somewhere to stash my nanopuff and stuffsack. Installed on my bike in front of the store, went to stuff my junk in there and as soon as I went to zip it up the zipper pulled away from the bag material and completely delaminated a 6 inch spot, making the bag useless and not waterproof. At least this happened there and not in a downpour or months later on a trail. I'll stick to better built frame bags from companies that know what they're doing.

Solid, simple frame bag for bikepacking

This is a great frame bag that holds plenty, is exceptionally waterproof, and does it all without a lot of fiddling. It's a super simple design that has held up well for me on a few bikepacking trips thus far. As mentioned, the design is simple, but in a good way. Just a waterproof bag with a waterproof zipper and one (optional) velcro divider inside the bag. The material is thick and durable thus far. I don't worry about tears or abrasion, and have no signs of wear yet. The zipper is SUPER substantial and waterproof (more on that in a minute). Zippers are the most common failure point on frame bags in my experience, and I never worried about this one, even when I stuffed a little more than I should in the bag. The big zip was a bit tough to open when I got the bag, so I'd recommend lubricating it if you can. The zipper is super effective at keeping out moisture, and totally up to the challenge of typical daily use. After an hour of riding in a nonstop downpour, I found that a tiny amount (maybe a quarter teaspoon) of water had crept in through the end of the zipper around the zipper pull. It might have just have been user error; maybe I didn't close the zipper firmly enough. In any case, the waterproofing of the bag is still very impressive. After an epic drenching, the stuff in my frame bag was the driest part of my setup (including myself) on that ride. I typically only encounter extreme rain like that once a year or so, and I haven't had any issues at all with waterproofing during the more usual showers of a Pacific Northwest winter. The inside of the bag is surprisingly roomy. I'm able to pack most of my sleep system and cook system into the bag, along with tent poles. I liked the simple design of the internal divider that lets me make the most of the internal space. Since I'm able to connect as much or as little of the divider as I want, I can put my tent poles along the long edge of the bag (the "downtube" side) and then connect the velcro once they're in the bottom. The divider also keeps the sides of the bag from bulging out too much. The width of the bag was perfect for me. It's wider than my frame, but not so wide that my legs ever rub on it. It makes good use of the space. I run pretty narrow road bike cranks (i.e. low q-factor), and I never had issues with my legs rubbing on the bag, even when it's fully packed. I was really impressed how stable this bag was on long, bumpy rides. I was a little worried that the velcro straps wouldn't keep the bag steady and it would slosh back and forth when fully loaded, but I was wrong. It's been solid on 30+ mile trail rides, set-it-and-forget-it. The velcro straps that connect the bag to the bike frame have a clever little tap that secures the velcro in place relative to the frame bag. One minor issue I had with the velcro straps is that they're double-sided and there is rough velcro material on the inside of the straps that rubs against the bike frame. If you're worried about your paint job, you might consider getting some clear helicopter tape to go under the velcro, though I haven't noticed any issues with my paint thus far. In summary, this is a great waterproof frame bag that has served me well on recent bikepacking adventures. It's simple and it just works.
