I was looking forward to this shoe because of the highly positive reviews and I was burned on sizing up to get a pair of shoes for a great deal. My shoe size is always 12 (save the aforementioned size 13 bike shoes, which I was swimming in). My first couple of 15 minute rides felt tight, but not beyond breaking in. My third ride was a 45 mile ride, and the last 40 minutes was very, very painful. My foot swelled as everyone's does on a longer ride. My toenails were hitting the end of the shoe, my pinking toe felt crush, and my whole overall foot felt squoze laterally like I have never felt in a pair of shoes. I hope this was worsened to it being so early in the season and the shoes being not broken in yet, but I doubt the length issue with the toenails will be fixed. Usually bike shoes only break in width-wise. I used the medium shoe arch support. I'm not sure if the HV version (E-width) of this shoe would help, I've never gotten an E shoe before, but this shoe is painfully narrow.
