Great for a road bike when a bottle isn't enough
I almost don't feel this around my waist while on my road bike. The magnet holds the drinking tube well at my waist. I also purchased another magnet that clips on my bra strap to allow the tube to come over my shoulder, making it easier to grab the tube while on the fly. I recommend leaving the tube long until you're absolutely certain it's the length you want it, because it fit well when off the bike, but while riding uphill at the length I cut it, it comes off the magnet. I ordered another tube and got it right. I've tried walking with it and don't like that my arms rub it, but it's perfect for cycling.

Not the best for lower back issues
I bought this for mountain biking. After about an hour I begin to feel pain in my lower back. I’ve had lower back pain issues before but it doesn’t bother me much. Not sure if it was the position of the pack as the pack kept sliding down and I had to keep adjusting the straps to tighten. I had to return to the car and drop the pack off as it was killing my back. I’m not sure it’s a good idea to have water around your waste. Specifically if your using it for mountain biking and the weight is going to be bouncing on your lower lumbar. In the military we used h harnesses to support our canteens. Osprey should look at what the military’s used and consider a similar design. I love osprey packs and have several of them and have hiked miles and miles in them with no issue but the weight was on my shoulders. I ended up returning this pack, if you have lower back pain issues I would not recommend this. A Fanny pack is a Fanny pack but when you add the weight of water without shoulder support it may aggravate back issues. Luckily I only bought the small one 1.5 L version. it’s been a few days and I’m still in pain from it. Hopefully this review saves some one else from similar aggravation. Stick with the osprey water back packs that have shoulder straps if you have back issues.

Great on the trails!

Just rode with this waist pack for the first time and was so impressed. Very stable and plenty of room for riding essentials. I did t even notice the pack was there through technical sections and aggressive downhill. This was the perfect alternative to wearing a sweaty backpack for extra water in hot our desert mountains!

Supplemental Update: Poor Design

I bought this for mountain biking and off road motorcycle riding. There’s no straw hole in the bag for you to feed the straw out of. So when zipped close, tugging on the straw unzips the bag. Also, I’m a lefty and this bag only zips close to the right. This means, if I want to feed the straw to my left shoulder, the bag alga’s to stay unzipped because…..there’s no straw hole feed the stare out of the bag.

Obsessed

As a plus size woman I can not stress enough how comfortable this thing is! Straps are thick and comfy. I’m not a huge fan of the mouth bit but not terrible enough to dock a star. I’m a size 18 and it fits around with more space to extend straps!

Great for short hikes and bike rides

Great small pack. It was in the bike department but I use it for short hikes. Perfect size and no sweaty back. Easily adjusts for a comfortable fit and has a nice storage area for phone, keys, etc.

Fantastic for side hikes.

Bought this for a Grand Canyon trip and it was great. Holds plenty of water for side hikes and freed up my hands for scrambling. Plus it does get in your way or cause shoulder pain that other hydro packs can.

Waistpack for mtb

Excellent hip pack! The fit is really solid and you can (and should) trim the hydration hose to your length needs. Would highly recommend if you want to carry minimalist gear on your rides.

Nice waistpack, bad water reservoir

I really like this waistpack, but the water reservoir is such a bad design. It's hard to clean and dry it.

It does the job

On the whole I love Osprey products and know that I am buying a quality product. I can tell that everything will stand the test of time and it is reasonably comfortable. The smaller pocket is great for tools that I would otherwise loose on the trail and it has a good form factor to cram stuff into. My few annoyances with the product are that the pocket for the reservoir sits higher in the pack than I would have as ideal. This creates a weird bulge on your back and also makes it harder to fully utilize space. Additionally, the hip straps are not very long and do not hug as much as pinch. I have a standard waist size and they barely reach my mid hip bone. I would have loved to see a slightly wider pack or longer pads.
