I bought a pair for both my husband and teen aged son for their trip to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks..,they loved them!!! Stylish and comfortable!!
I use this shoe as a daily shoe to wear to work and back ( I wear my dress shoes at work), around town and for light hiking. The shoe fits well , is very comfortable especially since I replaced the standard laces with aftermarket bungee laces and is breathable. However within 3 months of wearing this the printed TPU Upper started cracking and peeling off from the mesh. In about 6 months the shoe looked tattered despite the mesh and the sole being intact. Stay away from these "3d Printed" plastic stck on designs. They provide neither long lasting looks nor comfort. I've had other Merrell shoes and have been a big fan all through except for these shoes.
My podiatrist recommended Merrell shoes with a more solid "ball of the foot" portion of the sole, due to an ongoing issue I have. I ordered these online based on already having a pair of Merrell's an assuming sizing was the same. I was pleasantly surprised to find they fit exactly the same, and provided me with the extra support I need for workouts and exercise on the elliptical. They are very well made and very solid. While the do weigh a little more than other athletic shoes, this was expected as they are better built. I will continue buying Merrell shoes across the board due to their quality and fitment being the same from model to model.
As a healthcare worker I am scheduled 12-hour shifts and am on my feet and walking a great deal of the time. I have really struggled in finding a shoe capable of what I need. These shoes have met the criteria so far. I have much less fatigue on my legs after 3 12 hour shifts in a row. I also have less palmer foot pain at the end of the day. The shoes are roomy yet no slipping, rubbing or hot spots on your foot at the end of the day. I noticed that I also have less foot odor when I take my shoes off. I have tried Brooks, Hoka, New Balance, ASICS, Nike with no luck! Moab Edge 2 has met my needs on a weekly basis for over 48 weeks (50 hours per week) They are still comfortable but will probably invest in another couple pair.
I bought these about 3 months ago, and I find myself wearing these every day. Great stability, support and comfort .. I do most of my walking on sidewalks and streets .. not much trail travel, yet. These aren't my first pair of Merrell shoes, and certainly won't be my last. I guess my only "knock" on the pair is a weird "squeaking" sounds from the right heel when I'm walking around. Outside I can't hear it, but when I'm indoors at home or at work, I can hear it for sure .. found that on my ICE mocks, as well. Not sure if it's just a minor fit "issue" or not. This won't stop me from purchasing other Merrell shoes, however.
Like every other Merrell shoe I've bought in the last several years, the Moab Edges fit perfectly and were comfortable right out the box. No breaking in required. I put them on and went for a 2-mile walk on uneven ground and barely could tell I was wearing them. The soles of my other Merrells have worn really well; from the looks of the construction on these, they will too. I like how secure Merrells make me feel even on rocky ground--I've yet to stumble wearing them. What can I say? If I need a shoe for light hiking in winter, summer, or just for casual wear around town, from now on it's gonna be a Merrell.
I love these shoes! I've been wearing the Siren Edge shoes for years. This is my 5th pair. I wear them everyday & for a variety of purposes, from errands to walking dogs. And they look great with shorts, jeans & leggings. They are lightweight, sturdy, very comfortable & supportive, have great grip (love Vibram soles), and aren't clunky looking like most hikers. The sizing is right on par. There is room in the toe box and they don't slide on my narrow heals. I personally would only do light hiking in them. I wear my Moab boots for regular hiking. The soles are thicker in both the Moab shoes & boots. And they are sturdier, give more support. I highly recommend these shoes.
Poorly constructed. I was breaking these shoes in wearing them 1-2 times per week while also wearing my Moab Ventilator. Should have stuck with the Ventilator model. I work in the retail industry and typically average 20k steps per shift. Once I started wearing these shoes explicitly, they quickly began to breakdown. The adhesive at the toe gave way and the upper started separating from the sole.

My go-to hiking boot has been the Moab Ventilator. When it was time for a new pair I wanted something lighter weight and breathable. The Moab Edge 2 looked like it would fit the bill. I have a wide foot, so I ordered the 10.5 W shoe. As others have noted, this shoe runs large and I found that to be true. The 10.5 M fits perfectly. The shoe is very comfortable right out of the box. It didn't need any brake in time prior to my first hike. I really like the fit, comfort and light weight of the Edge 2. Another benefit is its "packability", as I travel several times a year for hiking and photography adventures. I heartily recommend the Edge 2 to others looking for a sturdy, yet light weight hiking shoe.
The Moab Edge 2 replaces my old Merrell FSTs. The Edge 2 in comparison fees more stable with its thicker sole that will probably do well in our Midwestern winter. The fabric breathes but might be a bit warm for me at +60°F. I stayed with my size: expect a slightly roomier shoe that'll easily accomodate thick winter socks. The removable insole feels firmer in the arch than past Merrell purchases. There's lots of heel support too so if you're carrying a light backpack, the Edge 2 should do well. Overall I'm really happy with my purchase and I can't wait to see where my shoes take me!
