REI should be ashamed.
Looked at these sandals in the store but they didn't have my size so I ordered them online. The color is more of a blonde than the brown tobacco I say in the store and they do not fit like a different style pair I tried in the store. In fact they do not even measure the same. They were shipped in a box that looked like it was run over by a truck. The strap on one is creased. For the price paid for these sandals I expect perfection.
Leather is discolored
Great all-around shoe, didn't hold up
Love these shoes. I have narrow feet and very high arches and was able to wear them as my primary shoe around Europe with no issues or break-in period, and in summer I alternate them with my other pair as my daily shoes. Sticking point is that the cork sole has already split on both shoes at the forward leather attachment points on the side walls, completely thru in a couple spots. I bought these because everyone raves about their comfort and longevity, so was disappointed to find fractures after less than 2 years of wear for such a high price.
Color is off
Big fan of birks, but the tobacco color that I got was so light and not even really close to the photo online at all. I'll probably return these and look for a pair of Arizona's with a color I like.
Nice sandal, runs narrow
Typical Birkenstock quality, but these are narrow width sandals, which wasn’t super clear in the description. I have a medium width foot and the “narrow” Birkenstock width tends to fit narrow to medium feet, so they fit, albeit tighter than other Birkenstocks I own. I have them on the loosest strap setting. But the jade color is a nice neutral olive that would match most. Will keep depending on how they stretch out.

Fit is true to size. Comfortable right out of the box. Very happy with the blue color.
Second pair of Birkenstocks
This is my second pair of Birkenstock sandals. They are a supportive type of shoe and take some getting used to. And I'm still breaking them in... The color is a nice neutral shade of tan. Not too pink - whick I don't like. The style is cute being more feminine than some of the others. A bit 'strappy'! With the criss- cross narrow straps over the toes. I do like the look and hope the stiffness around my little toes will soften well as I continue the breaking in process?
ultimate sandals
I have worn these sandals every day since they came, the jade oiled leather is very nice and matches my wardrobe, they are amazingly comfy and supportive, I can walk in them or use casually. This Birkenstock width (the narrower) works better for me. I take a 38 for size 7.5 feet. Like the strap design and everything about them, my new faves.

Birkenstocks live up to their reputation
This is my first pair of Birkenstock Sandals, and I love them. They are very comfortable and feel supportive. I have bunions and the front straps don't bother them. I wore them around the house when I received them, and they felt very stiff, but the next time I wore them they didn't feel stiff at all.
