Wonderful comfort, terrible durability

I've bought two Desert Pucker shirts in the last five years, and they are unquestionably the most comfortable short-sleeve shirts I've ever worn. Unfortunately, they're also the least durable shirts I've ever worn as well—the seams on both shirts began fraying badly in less than a year of just seasonal wear. I even spent $$ to have a tailor re-do the seams of the first one I bought. The same seams on the second shirt have also frayed badly enough that I have to keep snipping threads hanging loose. If I ever see a Desert Pucker for sale somewhere I'll consider buying another one and live with the fraying seams, but I won't pay full price.

Super soft. Lasts for - evah!!!

This is my go to shirt from spring to fall. It's sooooo comfortable with a tee when it's cooler and in hot weather super soft with awesome airflow. When it gets wet it seems super soaked - but wait 10 minutes and it's almost dry. I can't figure out how Royal Robbins pulled that magic. My first Desert Pucker is still going strong and I just can't help myself adding more and more colors. Original shirt photo attached - not sure I can wear this thing out unless I grind it on granite with my climbing buddies!!

I've Loved these shirts for years!

I've been wearing these shirts for years. They are the softest shirts I've ever worn and they fit perfectly (I'm 5'-9", 170 lbs and wear a medium). They're nice enough to wear just about anywhere and look nice tucked or un-tucked (my preference). I just bought three for some upcoming travel since they look great without a lot of care. The buttons are magic on these shirts...I've never had one fall off. The only problem I have with them is that after about a year they fray around the edges...it's the price you pay for such a comfortable shirt and a good excuse to try out some new colors.

THE best all around shirt

These shirts never disappoint. The fabric is comfortable and washes well. They never need ironing and always look great. Our only complaint is that there is a relaxed style and a fitted style which look identical in the stores. The labeling is not clear enough and it is all too easy to pick out a new familiar shirt from the rack and come home to a shirt that does not fit the same way. Also why are there so many colors on your site with so many of them not in stock? (at least for the size we were looking for - L)

Nice styling but not wrinkle resistant

Bought two of these shirts on impulse right before a trip to Italy. They were lightweight and designed for warmer temps and looked like a nice upgrade from a polo shirt but not too dressy either. Got one in long sleeve and one in short sleeve. Once washed they do feature a "pucker" texture kind of like seersucker which I presume helps with the cooling ability of the synthetic fabric. They wrinkle quite a bit when packed and when washed and line dried they are a rumpled mess and definitely require ironing for a presentable appearance. I'm 5'8" and 160 and these shirts feel a bit tight through the upper back/shoulder region if flexing both arms forward but are otherwise comfortable enough. The colors are rich and pleasing to the eye. Recommended with reservations about wrinkles and fit for some.

Great Shirts!!

Husband absolutely loves the Desert Pucker short sleeve shirts and so do I. They wash well, then I put them in the dryer on low for a few minutes then hang to finish drying. No ironing. They also travel well. Love the different colors but would like see more pastel colors for summer like Glazed Pink from a few years ago. Also suggest the color be printed on a label somewhere to make it easier to replace a shirt with the same color. Thank you Royal Robbins for a great product!!

Desert Pucker shirt looks great but not durable

I have 8 of these shirts, the last 3 I purchased 3 years ago. I really like the design and take care of my shirts but they fall apart at the shoulders, bottom hem line and sleeves. I haven’t tried to get them replaced or covered by a warranty. They are too the point now that i can’t wear them out, I’ve regretfully had to throw them away or keep some for outdoor work shirts. I have other shirts from other competing brands that have held up well for 20 years.

Stain removal

My husband loves these shirts but we are having difficulty with stain removal. Any product we try also removes the shirt color, so the stain is gone, but there is a lighter color blotch left where we used the product. We have tried OxyClean, Ecos Laundry detergent, Grandma’s secret spot remover, Kiss-Off Stain Remover,Dr. Bronner’s Castile soap, Seventh Generation Dish Liquid, among others. We have ruined 3 of his shirts. Does anyone have a suggestion that works?

Creases

It was a delight to see these shirts back at Royal Robbin. They are easy to pack and wear well under travel conditions. Unfortunately they are not as good as they were. Somewhere in the finishing, packing or shipping a folding crease became set in all three of the shirts I bought. When I looked closely the same crease even showed up on the shirts that the model was wearing in the ad. You won’t look perfect in this shirt but it is still an excellent compromise.
