Sizing Notes
For boots: Add one half size to your street shoe size. You should be able to slip one finger behind your heel when you are standing up with the boot unlaced and your toes touching the front. If the boot is too short, your toes will get smashed walking downhill. Too long and your heel will slide up and down and give you blisters.

Very, very pleased
Bought these for the Glacier Haute Route in the French and Swiss Alps in August 2023. They were absolutely fantastic right out of the box. I wore them for 7 days straight, no break-in period, each day about 3000-4000 feet elevation gain with 6-8 miles hiking and glacier travel daily. No hot spots! No blisters! Super comfortable with and without crampons. Wore lightweight wool trekking crew socks with green Superfeet insoles (removed the Sportiva insoles). I went up about 1.5 sizes from my street shoe size. My feet are pretty wide, and I did not feel these to be narrow at all. Boots still look great after 7 days of heavy use. Very, very pleased, so much so that I’m buying an extra pair. Cute colors, too!
Good Looking Boots
Use the boots for two winter hikes with micro spikes and a lot of snow just few days before. The first was 4mi and 2000ft EG hike for 3 hours. At the end of the first hike, I felt frictions at the back of my ankle and the upper back of my calf. I was worried about the day after the first hike to Mt. Washington NH with doubled both distance and vertical. I changed socks to Darn Tough Micro Crew Lightweight Hiking Sock not so heavy and the boots were broken in. I didn't feel anywhere uncomfortable except not as warm as my winter hiking boots with 800g insulation. I am happy that I don't need to buy another mountaineer boots to prepare to climb Mt. Shasta via REI's adventure.
Perfect for trekking!
I bought these for a trekking trip on the Huayhuash Circuit in Peru. They were perfect for all terrains. The tread is amazing, the material quality still looks new after the 12 day trek, and the waterproof ability was incredible. I even wore these with crampons to do a mountaineering climb on the trek, during winter time in Peru. The description says these are three season boots, but with two pairs of wool socks, they were perfectly warm for a winter climb. They held the crampons wonderfully too. Awesome ankle support as well. I couldn’t be happier with these boots!
Great lightweight performance
I have several boots to select from depending on the type of hiking and mountaineering objective on the agenda. In my experience, this boot is best suited for 3-season high alpine snow/glacier climbs. It's a relatively lightweight boot, comfortable enough for the short-mid length approach trails, keeps feet warm and dry, has amazing tread, and compatible with crampons. Not to mention the fantastic colored shoelaces. I also use these in the winter, but not for climbs in more extreme cold temps. My only complaint with these boots is the height of the top - it falls just a bit shorter than other mountaineering boots and this is most noticeable when side-hilling, especially while wearing crampons. Therefore, my ankle doesn't have as much support as I'd want. Even with this, though, I rate the boot highly and recommend.
Hurt my ankles
Wanted to like these. Fit was ok, very sturdy and stable on rock while scrambling El Diente. But the ankle support killed my ankles. The shoe put awful pressure on my ankles when hiking around, even after loosening the boots as much as I could in that area. It got to the point where it was a stinging pain and I thought my ankles had been rubbed raw. They weren't, but they were bruised and painful.
Perfect Boot
I’ve hiked Kilimanjaro, Ausengate, Inca Trail, Laugavegur and these boots are perfect. I didn’t even break them in before taking on an 80 mile trek in the Andes.
