Years of satisfaction
I have 5,600 miles on my trek ebike. At around 3,000 miles I purchased a second battery so I could take longer trips. I am about to replace my original Bosch Power Pack 400 because it finally gave out. For the last couple of years I could get 20+ miles at the second highest power setting on my class III ebike. On the first setting of support I could get 30+ miles. My second battery is the 500 and I do not think it is worth the extra money for the small increase in capacity, and I have to wonder if it will last as long as my original 400. So I am buying another 400.
Worthless garbage
I bought a Trek Vista 2+2 e-bike in September of 2020 to begin e-commuting 15 miles to work in AZ. I bought the bike in Montana. The very next day when I got it home, the PowerPack 400 went dead. I took it to a Trek dealer who confirmed the failure, and I made a claim under warranty. The replacement lasted till November of 2021, when it suffered total failure again after less then 1800 miles and 100 charging cycles. Then, while shopping for a replacement, to my astonishment and outrage, I found a replacement would cost, with tax, over $700. In terms of miles per gallon, at 25mpg and $3.50/gallon, $700 would provide 5000 miles of travel on gasoline. At 1800 miles before failure, his battery cost, ignoring charge cost, the equivalent of $9.72 per gallon of gas.
dead
It worked fine for about 4 years, and then suddenly just totally stopped charging. This is way too short a lifespan for the replacement cost, but then what can you do? I have to buy another one, but I'm not happy about it.
Battery is Worthless
I bought the electra townie go bike brand new. The battery had maybe 10 charges on it before it died and wouldn't charge again. Super frustrating.
