Excellent insole!
After a bad experience with a version of a Sole with a cork bed (see my review under Sole Performance Medium Wide) i wrote to the company and they offered a replacement. I chose these and couldn't be happier. Very comfortable and supportive, and they've held up well for a few years now for my mostly/sometimes-daily, local walking routes. More durable than some of the Superfeet insoles i've used (although they also work well). It's worth noting that this model is made is a wide version, which, unfortunately, REI doesn't carry, but it's listed on the Sole website. The size 12 is a near-perfect fit for my US11.5 Altra Lonepeak 4s, needing only a slight trim off the toe end. The width is perfect. I think the medium width version wouldn't quite fill out the width of the shoe. I'm getting a couple of more pairs so i don't have to keep switching my one pair between shoes.

Sole Insoles (Black synthetic base)
I've used Sole insoles in my hiking and running shoes for many years. They fit my feet far better than Super Feet insoles. The company claims the black synthetic models are as durable as the cork based models, but after trying both, I must disagree. I have found the black composite insole to far outlast the cork based ones. I love the black synthetic Sole insoles!
They work!
When I first opened the package, I was disappointed because the item seemed really hard and stiff and these were expensive. But once inside the shoes, they are very cushiony and comfy. They also provide significant arch support. My feet are snugly supported such that, for the first time, they don’t slide forward and jam my toes while walking downhill.
The best choice
I love these inserts. They are much better than the cork versions, and will form to your foot.
Stand up straight!
These were recommended by my physical therapists to improved my posture after surgery - to correct the compensating stance I took to alleviate pain. They fit nicely into my Merrell slip-ons. They have great support but are cushy enough to feel comfortable. The shoes are not oversized and I was a little afraid they would be tight with these inside, but nope. My feet are comfortable and I can definitely tell I am positioning my feet and knees correctly now. Very happy with my purchase.
Great insoles
These actually made a huge difference in the way I step through while running. I have none of the discomfort in my ankles and knees from stepping through the outer part of my foot, which makes exercising and being on my feet a lot easier.
A welcome reprieve from back pain!
I bought these because of a herniated disc and accompanying hip pain. I didn’t want to miss out on hiking anymore, so thought I’d give these a try. The added support seems to be making a difference for me!
Dependable Product
