Nice hat, but fabric misleading and size is small
I'm happy with the hat. But I'm disappointed that the product description doesn't disclose that it's a 50/50 merino/poly blend. It only says "merino" which is inaccurate. Also, I measured my head at 22.5" just under the 23" which put me in the smaller size. The small fit very snugly and a bit too high, so I ordered the large which fit much better. On the plus side it's warm enough and comfortable, and fits under the helmet nicely. I don't think it's quite as warm as my old 100% merino skullcap, though.

merino blend
I had an earlier version of this cap that was 100% merino that I loved and used for both biking and cross country skiing. Unfortunately I lost it and purchased this replacement. The new version is 50% wool/50% polyester (even though REI website just says merino) and feels more cheaply made to me. The design of the cap is good (i.e., fits snuggly, good weight for high intensity activity in the cold, and I like the brim), but I don't except that I'll enjoy wearing it as much as the old version and not sure it will last as long.

Great winter cycling hat

This is a well-designed, high-quality cycling cap. It helps keep me comfortable bike commiting during mid-Atlantic winters. It's not bulky, and it fits comfortably under a helmet. The visor is stiff, provides cover from the rain, and flips up when you want it out of the way. Compared to the Giro cap, I like that the Greazy's seams run along the sides rather than join at the top, which I find irritating under a helmet. Next to the Ibex Bicleta, which is no longer made, this is my next favorite winter cycling cap.

Best cycling hat ever

I love this hat. I’ve had it for years and it still looks great. It’s by far my favorite and most reliable piece of kit. It keeps my ears warm, the sun out of my eyes, when needed and even works while wet. This hat is the one thing I have to have for cold rides.

Unfortunately too tight.

This cap looked extremely well made. Unfortunately, the size L/XL was just too snug and had no mechanism for any adjustment. Normally an XL cap will fit me, so I would consider this cap to actually be a size large. Looked like a good cap if you don’t need a XL.

Cap fits well under cycle helmet!

Cap fits well under cycle helmet and covers my ears. But there in not a place to put my pony tail through so my hair is smashed on my neck. Perfect helmet except my hair problem - usually I pull my hair through my helmet straps. I needed a hat to cover my ears in the cold.

Awesome!

Got this for my fiancée for Xmas. She commutes by bike in NYC and says that this hat is super warm despite being so low-profile. Definitely recommend!

Quality warm cap!

Solid cap! I needed something warmer for those below freezing rides and this does the trick. I like the blend of wool/poly, soft to the touch, fits great under a helmet and seems well made (only a few rides in so far). The only adjustment I would make is a slightly larger bill on the XL model for those sunny rides. But huge thank you! One size does not fit all/most and it is nice to see a company make a larger size cap for all of us big head people out there!

Very nice for a road ride

A snug fitting, sporty riding cap for cool to cold days. Helps cut wind and keep your ears/head warm during breezy rides in fall/winter. The brim provides for good sunshade on your eyes.
