I absolutely love these snowshoes! In the past I’ve always rented shoes in the past but we have so much snow this year I did some product research and decided to buy these Tubbs shoes. I’ve been on them every day since. The BOA bindings are simply fantastic —quick and easy on and off. Best gear purchase I’ve made in a while.
I bought these because they were the only decent snowshoes available a few weeks ago that had these bindings. My previous pair had web bindings that loosened and failed and my stride was impacted. These bindings on these snowshoes allow me to reliably point my snowshoes in the direction I want them to go. Especially important since I formerly wore 25s and I chose to get 30 inch shoes for better flotation and in case I carried a pack. They are light, easy to put on and take off. I love these snowshoes!
Used once. Heel strap started breaking. Replacement is an ongoing ordeal. Tubbs sent replacement strap without instructions. Then when I called AGAIN, they said I needed a special tool from another company (BOAFIT) to take apart the cable system in order to replace the heel straps. I left BOAFit a message and sent them an email today. So am waiting to hear back about how to get the special tool to disassemble cable system to replace heel straps.. Also, Tubbs said that temperature fluctuations can cause material to rot (which explains why it only one set broke????) - so apparently these aren't designed to be used in the cold.
I’ve owned many snowshoes over the years and have struggled with the bindings constantly! These Tubbs Wayfarer snowshoes are FANTASTIC!! The bindings are simple to put on and take off. I’ve had absolutely no problems with them. Highly recommended!! Refreshing to see a company come up with a design that truly works!!
I picked these for the BOA and have not been disappointed! No more pulling straps at awkward angles and inevitable on-the-trail adjustments. With one hand and a few seconds my boots are secure and I’m ready. The frame has held up well so far though I do notice that the rear/tail portion is a bit wider overall than my spouse’s snowshoes but I mostly break trail for her and the dog so that’s been fine.
Great snowshoe. Easy to enter and strap on with the Boa mechanism. Easy to exit and take off the snowshoe. Comfortable and easy to use while snowshoeing. Great product.
